Joel Came across this 525 mod when doing some search to add more fuel capacity to my bike ... pretty sure it's an XR seat tank modified to fit on to the KTM.

you're right, it was mixed in with a bunch of other pics of 525's in rally dress. Those guys are spending HUGE $$ on building those rally bikes.

http://www.bajadesigns.com/ProductDe...mNumber=260501 ![]() it hangs on the alum sub-frame (prone to cracking) which i don't like. still a good approach, just weld braces on your sub frame. this weekend, i'm installing a 5.3 gal acerbis on the 350. i heard, that set up is good for 250 miles. soon, i can do the big loop in death valley or mesquite to grand canyon without thinking of fuel. here's a 6.1 gal for $585...8( http://justgastanks.com/product_info...roducts_id=485

rowher is a cool place; great place to enjoy your bike and with friends. lots of riding for all skill levels. there are also neighboring trails not too far from bouquet and will get you as far as gorman to fill up a day. wish i have more time planning weekend rides. really been busy with the noobs rally, and in my garage 1 broken bike (525 exc), 1 project bike (xr400) and couple more. not to be ignored, i got more future out of state rides in mind. yeah, just trying to fill up my bucket list. just post up here if you're looking for a local ride. there should be others who want to do the same. |

Yeah. Definitely looking forward to checking out some more remote rides, but not solo. I'm itching to try Nordhoff Ridge Road near Ojai. By permit only and looks like it has amazing views of the Channel Islands.
I've got a set of Barkbusters I need to install but need to tap the handlebar end plugs to thread them... a little nervous about it but will have to do it.

A mounting kit should be available that goes in the bar ends.

A tapped end is much, much better.
I believe it's a 5/8-11 tap. Easily done on aluminum bars.

I am in Camarillo and probably already have the correct tap, would be willing to help you out if needed, really not as hard as it sounds.

SWEET! I'll give it a shot. Worse case I switch out the stock bars for something a little higher. They feel a little low for me anyway. It'll be nice to get some feedback on ergonomic and suspension setup at the Noob Rally. I'm new to all of it. Thanks for the tips!

$ - bar riser $ $20 here; i have these on 2 of my bikes http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/...-Kit/bar+riser $$ - find lower foot pegs $$ - atv bar http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/...bar/handlebars tall people normally use a combination of a bar riser and aftermarket handlebars with higher rise. choosing handlebars is not simple because it has a lot of things involved, like 7/8 or 1 1/8, rise, sweep, width, etc. no such thing one size fits all. protaper chart here: http://www.protaper.com/products/handlebars/se on my ktm 640, i made my own bar riser which eliminated 50% of the vibration. i work for a vibration isolator company and applied the same technology. yes, it is still a top secret.....
