You trailering your bike?
Yes, driving out with Husky in the back of my truck. I'm in Monrovia, leaving at 7am, if you want a ride.

I'd probably throw the beast on my trailer and haul it out.
I've never been out there. Would you say that is mostly fireroad? Is there good single track? How much asphalt? How many miles round trip? Just curious - i am up for everything!

nice pix mike and brian....glad you guys had your ride and kept the beat on the weekend ride pulse alive!

hey artboy, fyi, the digital camera does not require a film and processing, get one and start posting pics....

TwoWheelsGoodAny interest in changing it up this Saturday and riding from the Cajon Pass for a choice of easy to advanced riding? Cleghorn, Silverwood Lake, Pinnacles, T6 Bridge, Crab Flats, maybe the Malcolm Smith Trail?

Very easy to split into easy/hard groups and regroup occasionally, or try something harder and if you get in over your head, just drop down to the fireroad.

If so, I propose an 8am meet, 8:15 start from the McD's at the 15 and 138.

i like rich's idea, we need to start doing big bear again...trailering or riding let's ride.....

though i'm out this coming saturday...need to rest my old tired body and sore right shoulder.....

New Guy Alert!

Hey everyone. I have been lurking around this thread for the past week or two and wanted to introduce myself. My name is John and I'm possibly looking to meet up to do some rides. I live in CO half the year and Signal Hill presently. Been riding for awhile but don't know much about the SoCal offroad scene.
I was up at Newcomb last Friday and had no idea how to get to any of the trails up there. From what I have read here you seem to have it dialed. Where do you guys meet up when you ride Angeles NF?
I just did another ride today over to CNF via Trabuco Creek. I was going to head up on Ortega as I read that they reopened some of the closed trails today (from Santiago fire last year) but I ran out of time.
The ride you guys are talking about for Sat sounds interesting. I am just wondering how long the actual ride would be as I would be slabbing it from LBC. About 75 miles I'm guessing to 138/15.

skz....welcome to the community, keep an eye on this thread. many times i organized the ride, but that doesn't mean no one can't. everyone is encourage to post their plan and we all love to ride.

long beach is not too far, rob aka notmybikemodelname goes on our rides a lot! hook up with him on the ride up.

unfortunately that trail behind newcomb's will be officially closed on nov. 15th, but we are fortunates to have alternate routes, easy and difficult.

there is also the sunday church ride and reverend razr is trying to get the endorsement of the vatican to make it an official service..

hope to see you soon.

I appreciate the welcome!

So is that trail behind Newcomb closing for the season or permanently? I hope not the latter. If so I may have to squeak a ride up there in the next few days as I still have a fairly flexible schedule at least for the next week or so.

Seasonal closure Nov 15 - I think May? 15, there are other trails still open
