I'd rather be caught anywhere with a chain than a shaft when shit hits the fan. Alaska, South America, DV, Big Bear, My driveway.

Too true, as cool as the blacked out new GSA could be, I'll probably end up buying the new 1190 R off some short guy who finds the bike WAY to tall next spring.

There was an inmate who couldn't get his BMW turned around in a remote area. 3 days no water, died a month later. Heavy bikes kill!

No doubt, love that I can pick up my 525 with one hand, anyway, back to the topic of Adventure Rides ... rolled past 50K crossing the border from the last Baja trip. The big bike can get put on the miles in just 3.5 years.

i like the style of the new WH, pretty tempting, but i don't have any $ at the moment so i would keep quiet, but drooling.

after test riding the new 1190, i am convinced it was designed well and it has a feel of a road bike (smooth). not discounting the 990, that is one awesome dirt oriented big bike. never seen before that many good riders on 990 at the ktm rally. good chance i will be in the market for a 990 in a couple of years when many riders are moving up to the 1190.

big bike doesn't kill - it is the pre existing condition and situation that kills. blame it on the lifeless equipment!

The world must be falling off it's axis ... just left Long Beach BMW where sitting on the showroom floor is a fully laoded 990 adventure. Right next to it is a showroom condition (MINT) 950 SE Erzberg with 4,500 miles ... both trade ins from what it sounds like.

Somebody "has up and lost dey mind"

Its quite normal TODD, they just realized they just cant handle a real mans off road bike (Adventure Sized) & downgraded to a fire road/pavement friendly ride.

RIDE ON!
