For tight canyon carving the 17 front does speed things up. You could build a front wheel assembly pretty cheap by getting a take-off hub and lacing a warp 9 rim on there, get some sticky rubber front and back. The 17" rubber selection is considerably more vast. The only downside here is the small single brake disc, but as long as you keep that in mind and don't toast it you'll get along pretty good.

This gets tossed around ad infinitem on cafehusky, very popular with the TE riders. Here's a member TE630 - supermoto'd. You saw mine setup for dirt, what a difference for motarding, eh? They're definitely a blast to ride on road. You might want to regear it as well.

One of my old riding buddies in LA is really into converting old dirtbikes into supermotard and he's an old 2-stroke fanatic. I painted the frame for him on this one, he also has a GasGas 250 all black sumo, and a XL350. One of their favorite rides are the skinny canyons of Malibu. I kept up with them pretty well on my Versys but I bet if they wanted to really huff it they'd walk away.

Here's the GasGas, I think it's a 98 or 99 EC250. Hoodlum street bike. LOL.

The day has come that even I must admit I have too many motorcycles... I lost spark on my YZ250 at my race yesterday and could not fix it in time to make the race, I was so bummed out that I went and got myself a consolation prize

but I told myself I need to sell of some of the other bikes. if I'm honest with myself I only can keep up with taking care of 4 or 5 bikes.

I need to sell
77 DT250 $2000
97 YZ250 Supermoto $1800 (I'll fix the ignition issue)

I am considering selling my
89 Plated XR600 $1,000 (but if I let this one go I will need a replacement Duel sport)
75 RD350 $3000

If anyone is interested in any of the above bikes let me know.

The 3 bikes I can't let go are
12 Speed triple
14 WR300
00 KTM200

Yeah just ordered the Warp9s & front fender. I got a buddy who gives me Battle Ax slick take offs so all I need is to buy some hand guards and make some slider and I should be in business.

I may make a shorty silencer if I feel it needs a bit more power (I haven't been able to find one for it yet)

I may get a flywheel weight to mellow out the hit if I'm squirming out of every corner.

I might get a set of springs for it but that will probably wait till it needs fork seals.

Thanks Joel, when I was studying motorcycle mechanics & working as a tech I bought a bunch of suspension tools so I'm good. If you ever need to charge a shock I got the Nitrogen stuff to do it.

Jamin, WOW!

That DT250 sures brings back some great memories! I had 4 different generations of DT250s! I'll let my buds know about your bikes.

Your YZ could be as simple as a dead plug, bad coil/cap, or loose spark plug lead. But, may also want to check the stator, CDI, etc just to be sure.

Nice Husky, you must've gotten a great deal to buy a new 2T to tard out!

you have the tools....awesome..

will also need your help to do a ktm rear shock. javier put it together and let's see what inside and learn a little of his secrets.

the front, i consider myself proficient, but don't know anything about the shim stack combo.

it was a beautiful day and no traffic on the 2 (angeles crest). the road would have been perfect but sand on the center divider. i guess that stops the squids from crossing the double yellow. no accident...perfect!
