Randy I have a old supertrap megaphone exhaust. Its the type that you can add or remove disk. You might have to mod it a little bit to work. But am sure it can be done. PM if you want it.

worth having one! or 2 if you have dual exhaust.

works on most bikes.

These heat shields are NOT adequate if the muffler includes a catalytic converter. Cats run much hotter.

I tried to keep stock Cat mufflers on my 950... WAY too much heat to deal with. Both in temperature and thermal mass. Imagine a header pipe on your skin that has that high of temperature for 10 times as long. Wowza!

A couple muffler sliders have worked well for me on my SE.

I cut the cats out of my husky cans and they went from can't touch to being able to lay your hand on them. Night and day difference. Cut about 5lbs worth out of them, put straight thru perf pipe in the place of the internal mufflers and cats. Funny thing is it's not much louder than stock.

Poor man's performance exhaust.

Thanks for all the ideas. For the short term, I'm not going to run saddle bags on the DR. Later, I might put on a turbo city rack with pannier supports or fab something up to keep the bags away from the muffler.

My Son and I both attended the last training day. He rode a XR100 and does not have a license yet (14). I do not think the area is a designated riding area but their were also other kids riding dirt bikes in the area.

So, dont know if it is legal to ride green sticker there but many people are.

Hope this helps

jm, it will be great to see you there. if you're teaching, bring...we want to learn how to wheelie....

like rob said, there were several dirt bikes and we never saw any leo.

plenty of hills to climb along the sand wash...scary steep, but we stayed on the easiest ones.

I'm in, I don't know that I should be teaching but I'll be glad to share what I know. I just like running drills and working on skills every now and then. See ya then.
