We had a good turnout, a total of seven riders. KLRrob, slugdad, ma duce, fzCruzer, breakfast burrito, headstaller, and yours truly. The weather was great! Here are my pics, not many action shots though. :(

We met up at Burger King fueled up and ready to ride...

Bill and Rob

Zak

Chu

Rob

The trail was nice and peaceful. We pretty much had it to ourselves.

The bridge at Bear creek is always a great break spot...

We arrived at the restaurant in 7 oaks to find it is closed for the winter, reopening in April. Rat farts! The fellas enjoyed some refreshments from the small market there while we made alternate lunch plans.

breakfast burrito:

FzCruzer:

Headstaller:

SlugDad:

While exiting the forest out towards Moonridge Rd we came upon a closed gate. No wonder I was getting a weird vibe from the tons of hikers and bikers as we neared the end.

We had lunch at La Paws Mexican restaurant in town. We were a hungry bunch.

That's the last of my pics. After lunch Chu peeled off and headed home. Rob (FzCruzer), Aaron, and Zak headed for the Jacoby canyon trail, and Bill, Rob, and I headed for Holcomb Valley Rd near the land fill and ran it all the way to Green Valley. From there we all agreed to call it a day and head home while there was still daylight. I had a lot of fun and enjoyed the clean air and great scenery the area has to offer. Looking forward to the next one.

Hahaha Each of the last two times I grew it out I'd get tired of it soon after it gets to the length I want. I may give it another go next summer.

Any Tues/Wed riders in L.A. area?

Hi all,

I'm an ok rider, looking to improve skills and learn more about LA area. I work weekends so cant ride with most of the guys I know. Anybody ride tuesdays or wednesdays?

Also, where does an offroad newb go to learn about trails in the LA area?

Thanks!

Closest place to ride offroad in LA county with a range of trails from beginner to intermediate would be texas canyon/rohwer flats. Going those days your available, you'll have the place ALL to yourself. Go ride & enjoy!

RIDE ON!

+1

have fun mark.

before the power house fire, we used to ride from rowher, then to san francisquito - lake elizabeth and all the way to rock inn. there were times that we will continue on north to sawmill up to the old ridge route (been closed now for as long as i can remember).

haven't done that one for many months.

Sawmill's been closed since the Lake Hughes fire last year. I really miss that trail.
Not much left around the mountains except Coarsegold and Rowher.

+1 more.

Fond memories! I grew up in Canyon Country just over the hill from Texas cnyn. Learned to ride there on an '81 DT 175 in '83. Many movies / episodes filmed along that stretch of Sierra Highway.
