Hmmm, KLR? Here's a nice pic of one that joined our big bike ride in the desert on Sunday. We got the oil to stop pouring out of the drain plug by laying it over on its side. If anyone had a gun, it's highly likely it would have been shot on the side of the road.

I still to this day don't know why on earth a KLR is a bike of choice for Dual Sport, i get the price ( you get what you pay for never meaned more though) but with a curb wieght of 432lbs. (published #'s, which mean nothing, probably 450) maybe its just me, but i just don't get it. Forgot to mention the Whopping 31.6 HP

I'm living in the Beaumont area until sometime this fall with a very flexible work schedule after May 10. Hoping to do a 7-10 day ride at some point before I leave California in the fall.

Any locals planning any big loops?

what bike do you ride? you like fire roads?

maybe i could get a ride this weekend, but most likely a small bike to mojave.

there should be a few big rides before you head back home.

baja, moab, mammoth or grand canyon are a few. will see how they materialize.

you're not far from big bear. once the snow melts, we will be riding the area at least once a month.

Not sure how long we will be here, September at least. Used to ride a 450xc, now I'm on an old XR600R.

I'll stay tuned for the Big Bear days. Wouldn't mind a three day ride after May 10 if anyone wants to go make a desert loop.

Just heard that Rt. 33 north of Ojai is closed for the next two to three weeks. If you are planning on going that way check with Caltrans before you head out.

Oliver and I are going with the local BMW shop, over nighting in Big Sur..

Sounds like a nice campsite that isn't crazy busy even in the summer tourist season.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but that crashbar looks like it's cracked and ready to break off at any moment. The footpeg looks just perfect too.
