Well as of an hour ago, Lil-T is really closed. Looks like someone showed their displeasure by tipping the Andy Gump

Won't open until Dec 22nd.

I am up for whatever the group decides -
But I like this idea...
Lynx - SCD - LT - Bouquet or Lake Hughes - Elisabeth - Ang Forest - Home

see you all there!

I'll be there too. I'm game for whatever, but what about going out to El Mirage and playing on the lakebed? 990 Speed runs?

Usually means meet time. We give the stragglers another 20 minutes or so. I'm 99% in for tomorrow.

Not sure if you know (or care), but:

"El Mirage Dry Lake Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area

Starting Wednesday, October 1, 2008 El Mirage Cooperative Management Area will be a fee area

Each vehicle driven into the area will be required to have a special recreation permit. A separate permit is NOT required for any vehicles towed into the area. However, if a towed vehicle is later driven in or out of the area a permit will be required.
Presentation to the Recreation Resource Advisory Council For Fee Implementaion

The permits are:
$15 for a one day permit, valid from dawn to dusk
$30 for a weekly permit, valid for 7 days
$90 for an annual permit, valid from October 1, 2008 - September 30, 2009
Permits will be available for sale on-site using a fee machine. The on site fee machines take cash and credit cards. Please bring exact amount of the pass, the machines do NOT make change. The fee machines at EL Mirage sell daily, weekly and annual passes."

I guess you could skip the fee machines if you don't mind dodging "the man".

How many miles would you say it is Wzl?
I'm not really sure, maybe 150ish, but there are lots of possible variations, bail out points, and fuel at spots along the way.

Hey Mike Toon,
Do you know if the closure impacts the junction of Santa Clara Divide if you want to go north from there towards Sand Canyon? I recognize where the work is, the stop signed single lane sections south of the SCD junction, but not sure if they closed anything north.

The repair to the road is only that one spot up about 4 miles, just below the Wildlife Waystation. A local guy on Gold Creek Rd told me the road is open from Sand Canyon back down to the Waystation.

From Burbank, the Shell station at Foothill and Oro Vista in Sunland about 8AM then meet at Lynx around 8:30?

Cool, good to know.

Probably be closer to 8:45 at Lynx if folks are leaving the La Canada Shell station at 8:15-8:20, but there's always a bit of a BS, I mean "air down" session, at the start of Lynx so no worries.
