Well, met up with Razr at 7 yesterday and just before the SC turnoff he lost his chain. He unwedged it and got it back on, but it was way stretched, no adjustment left. He limped it home rather than lose it 20 miles offroad, he PMed saying he made it home but it had jumped a second time. I went up the usual route SCD to the left after the Ranger station. Seemed extra rocky and sandy, but probably just because I was solo and paying attention! Came back through Little T and watched a couple hundred British bikes going the other way from the Hanson rally. Fun!

Sawmill Road

I wonder who will be interested in riding up to Sawmill all the way to Gorman this coming Saturday!

The last attempt ended up as you see below

Nowwhat and I never made it through, chances are the snow is gone by now.

Unlikely I can finish the 640A, so I'm taking the trusty XR400

Have fun in DV and we'll wait for your rr and pics, meanwhile we can schedule another Sawmill Ride when you get back. Sawmill is at high elevation @ 6K ft? and the weather will be cooler riding there! Besides, I'm looking forward for another free lunch at the Rock Inn.

I wish there will be a little bit of snow left, like Razr, I like the presence of snow too (on the trailside though).

Preventive maintenance service!

New main shaft bearing, link arm bearings, valve adjustment, flush radiator, lube, oil change, and some improvements.

Heavier front fork springs and revalve

Heavier rear spring and revalve

The bad thing about having another bike, there's no urgency to finish the project.

Yeah Oni, haven't seen you for a while! Let's ride!

Not sure I'm gonna make it.

Have to put one of my dogs to sleep. He's 14+ years old and his legs are giving out. He's been a good and loyal buddy, but I think he's telling me he's ready to go, I can see it in his eyes.

I may try and go with him Friday to the vet, in which case I will be riding to get out of the depressed funk I'm already in.

I had the same feeling too when I lost my dog and friend for 6 years to cancer. The vet put him to sleep while he was in my arm. I tell you, I was agonizing for several weeks. The bond between the 2 of us was very strong and hard to described. We treated him like a family member.

There's a place in NoHo that will do the service at no cost! It's funded my the Humane Society, and all I did was made a donation.

Oni, be prepared and move on!

Looks like we will be grinding the 400s on this ride , but at least you have a brand new knee braces to get you off the saddle.

And since this is a longer and farther ride, we'll only wait for 10 minutes, instead of the usual 30.
