glad you guys got home with no issues....

hey trid...do you ever sleep?

brian.....606s and mt21s are the most dirt oriented ds tires. most of the big guns like sito, dr, marty....use 608s, great on dirt and ok on pavement. i had that before i switch to the saharas, now i'm on front 606 and rear tkc.

dannyg...have fun it az an utah!

Looks like you guys weren't breathing the soup down here.

I finally heard from my mechanic in Sylmar. The fire jumped his shop and burned the hill behind him.

Dog is on the mend.

Gorman is a day trip for me. Gotta be back to take care of the dog. Unlike the Jeep, he can't ride shotgun on the bike. Especially with me driving.

that looks like "WzlTech Trail".(if so that is not BPL aka 4N32)
was this the trailhead on Angeles Forest Hwy?

But I was looking for this... http://tinyurl.com/5a2t4y which would have been North of Mt Emma Rd. Gave up because of traffic.

Nice going on making a ride out of the day! I chickened out, but at least i can live vicariously through your photos...

I did go down to scott's to have them throw on a D606...maybe now, tire traction will overcome my weak skillz on that loose hillclimb off BPL! Anyone here ridden the 606? What can i expect for milage on the pavement?

Say no to forest fires!
I only ride 606's and I get 1200-1500 miles on the rear if I'm light on the throttle, and maybe 2500 miles on the front. I ride 90% dirt and 10% street. I got two Full moon rides, three saturday rides, a couple quick trips to Saddleback and my rear finally gave out in DV last weekend.

yes, that has been coined "WzlTech Trail" but it is technically a BPL road. BUT it is not the BPL that we have road and talk about on this thread. the BPL we ride connects to the SCD .

Mike, I've done some of that road you show in the above link. Basically powerline roads following the big towers. The northeast section starts right at the junction of Cheseboro Rd. and Mt Emma Rd, near Little Rock Res. It pops out again on Mt Emma Rd., there are a lot of little twists and turns (and trash) and alternate sections along the way. In theory it crosses Mt Emma Rd. then and continues on to Angeles Forest Hwy, but that section has a closed gate on it... at least on the Mt. Emma end.

I haven't looked at the section from AFH to Aliso, but since it starts basically right across from where the regular BPL starts on Aliso It should be easy enough to check out some time. My hunch is that it's gated too, but don't know for sure. The section from Little Rock junction to Mt Emma Rd. had a gate on its southwest end for a short time, but now it's laying on the ground... it must have ticked somebody off. My map doesn't show any gates on any of that stuff, but maybe it's out of date. Not sure why they had a gate on only one end of the Little Rock Res. to Mt. Emma section? But it's no longer an issue.

Top of Topanga @ the make out spot.
Shitty day for breathing, let alone getting in a few miles.
