I may try and go with him Friday to the vet, in which case I will be riding to get out of the depressed funk I'm already in.

Haven't done Sawmill before, but from looking at the maps, can you go south (near what I think is the west end of Sawmill) on 8N04 (old ridge route) to Castaic?

If you wanted a really long ride... could go up and do Lynx and then all the way out SCD, Sand Cyn and a couple of backroads over to Boquet Cyn, left by the lake, hit 6N09, to 6N04, across Francisquito Cyn, and then drop down 7N05 to Lake Hughes, and then just a little pavement to Sawmill... and miles of more dirt. Are you tired yet?

PS. Oh, and with a little more effort you can do SCD on the way back too. :-)

"My condolences, Oni." from me too.

Starting where and when?

We had our little orphan Annie for 13 years, she was a great dog, had to have her put down for health reasons. I think and talk about her often and it was over 15 years ago. Sucks really sucks.

dude, i am so so sorry about your buddy.
i had to put my cat of 22 years down while i was holding her and it was THE worst thing i've ever had to do in my life.
a year later our dog of 16 years was sick.
riding a motorcycle with friends is one of the best therapies for just about anything.

Doghouse, call in sick and you will feel better after the ride. It's been a long time you rode with us and we don't even remember what you look like! All I know, you wear a size 14 shoes ! Shaq's size! And don't brag now, shoe size has nothing to do with the size of other body appendages!

I have an appointment Friday to take my buddy in, so I'm pretty sure I will be there Saturday. 0800 at the 7-11.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Pets are great, shame they have to leave us so soon. He's had a long life, but I can tell in his eyes that he's ready to go.

I'm going to give him a bath so he's nice and clean, feed him a steak, sit in the park in the grass and trees with him...then take him to the vet.

Regards Oni

My 2 Dogs Passed Within A Year Of Eachother (rottweiler & Neopolitan Mastif) And It Wasnt Easy. The Mastiff I Had Put Down Due To Bone Cancer And It Was One Of The Most Difficult Things I've Done. I Had Them Cremated So I Still Have The Ashes. I Sprinkled Some Of Them In Their Favorite Places And That Helped With The Greiving. I Always Think Back To The Fun Times We Had. Still Haven't Found Replacements And Will Be Difficult To Find Their Match.

I Hope To Ride With You All On Saturday!!

Thanks Stu...sorry for your loss too.

I have arranged to have him cremated and plan to bury his ashes in his backyard that he loved.

I'm going to bury his ashes with a Kong toy and a tennis ball...both of which he loved playing with more than eating.

I'm going to need to get out and ride...just gotta keep from drinking so much I can't wake up in time.

That's a beautiful idea to give him the final treat!

I think we should dedicate this Saturday ride as a memorial to your loving pet. So, guys please join us!

As an additional gesture, we will pee on every fire hydrant we see on the way with one leg up, you don't have too if you're wearing a skirt!

Any route planned for this w/e? More or less dirt compared to my first ride with the gang?

Need to ride this w/e for sure, just not sure where. Would like to get as much dirt time in before big bear.
