Thanks Mike. How's the ankle? I went out today , came up the backside of Angeles Forest, was going to do SCD from that end to Little T. I got to the dirt by the Bad Boys camp and it was sleeting. I could only see about 20 feet, so I thought better and turned around, heading down the Crest. Again, 20 ft. visibility. I passed 2 FFers, (MUST be our loonies) coming up the mountain, KTM and maybe KLR? Wzltech? That should be a good report! Stay warm ya'll!

Me and WT were out today. Did Lynx-WT trail- 4N24? Was cold in the clouds, but overall a great ride.

Don't remember passing anyone. Guess i was in the "zone"?

A friend and I (Ninja zx10r and me on the XT, yeah, talk about mismatch - no offroading) where riding up angeles crest as night hit. We where pulled over taking a break when someone on a yellow BMW passed and honked. visibility dropped to zero and we pulled off at Mt Wilson, decided it was too cold and turned back.

good catch sergio...and you're right.

no one was left in the camp and we all went home.

after the morning ride (that became an adventure ride for me and will tell you later) at around 2 pm the wind blew so hard and it felt like a sandstorm. it wasn't fun and brought home lots of sand.

pics and ride report next....8)H

Save Johnson Valley Ride

Took us Jim, Bill, and 8)H, 2.5 hours from my house to get to JV, the morning drive was pleasant and it was a beautiful morning.

Then we met Brent in front to the organizers big tent, after signing up, showing support and making donations we looked and found dannyG.

danny, brent, 8)H, bill, and jim

wtf....as we about to head out....rich aka m1jeep showed up

Save Johnson Valley Ride 12-03-08

i could not get jim and brent's attention, preoccupied with something better.....

the place was busy, lots of supporters, and i hope the public get to keep it

young and old, they were present

to the volunteers, really a worthy cause...

there were 4wd rigs too, lots of them

utv and rock crawlers got along

there were several exhibitors and sponsors

a demo bike being fitted with a flexx bar..my next "gotta have it"

looks like bill is waiting his turn to buy some girlie stuff....is that for your next kitchen pass?

sweeeeet....

btw 540exc rider, the yammie color is still evident..

time to ride and jim will agree that 950adv is a handful in the deep sand..

there are several routes, white for beginners, blue for novice/intermediate, yellow for intermediate/advance, and red for those who dare. we thought blue was a tough intermediate, and took that one....

the 950 is a big bike for this place, but riceless and spafxr didn't think so

it was truly a beautiful day, we thought...

as far as you can see...you can ride (before the marines take it over)

rhinoeatr on his new 450EXC, i guess he hasn't read the ktm rider's orange rule book yet....

just another little hill

when i lead the ride..everyone gets a lot of breaks....

more pics next....

We went to get some grub, then noticed the clouds had gone away and the moon was shining brightly!

An idea came to hour heads...

In honor of the ADV LA Full Moon Ride, we did our own but on concrete with Newcomb's as our goal Altho we knew we would not make it before closing time, didn't matter! That was our goal!

We bundled up some more, he switched bikes (125cc Yamaha Vino Scooter) and we headed right back up to Angeles Crest! Moon was so bright we could see everything! We where loving it!

It was raining stars so we eventually pulled over to watch the light show. But as we were starting to turn into popcicles we decided to contine to our goal.

Rolled into Newcomb's around midnight, took some pics and made our way back down.

I'm still trying to thaw my toes. Brrr! Need more/better cold wheater riding gear.

I think that was you guys. You were heading "up mountain" a few miles from the Crest/Forest turn at about 11:15? I was on the GS with the Radioactive yellow jacket on. So much for being visible!
