Get off at Foothill, off the 210 and go north then left on Osborne. 711 on the left.

Make sure you get gas before you get there, as the 7-11 doesn't sell gas and the closeset gas is 2 exits back down the 210.

Yes, good advise. For sure gas up before you get to 7-11. No gas up on SCD anywhere. If you have less than 100 mile range you might want to bring extra fuel or a siphon hose. I found that out the hard way.

I ran out of gas going down the crest. I was being past by the guys on bicycles. That week I found a 6gln tank. I use to carry a half gln of fuel in my back pack b4 I got the new tank. Ben

Hey guys & gals, I sold my lowered F650Gs for an shockingly high price,

And Yesterday I picked up a f650gs Dakar for a shockingly low price

Riding the Dakar I've learnted that it has a few things my other bike lacked:

1) A shock absorber and working forks. Hmmm, I dunno how I lived for so long without those... They really seem to absorb shocks. Who knew?
2) The steering head bearing turns freely. That might be an interesting change.
3) brand new TKC's with actual knobs on em. So far I've only gone through a mud puddle and an empty field, but they seem to do the trick.
4) Ground clearance, maybe I won't drag the pegs on the freeway onramp any more, or bang my feet into every rock and tree on the trail.
5) a 14t front sprocket instead of a 16 Wheeeeeeee! Who needs good mileage!?

I think I have to get this sucker off road and see what a real bike is like

see you tomorrow!

dale, glad to hear you're feeling better. same with my shoulder, 2 weeks make a big difference. maybe i don't need the surgery after all...

looks like we have a good size crew for tomorrow.

like in the past, we can divide the group according to their skill level. first we wait for everyone at the scd trailhead. then, the fast ones go ahead and wait for us at the top of indian canyon. i would like to spend the first half of the ride with the nOObs until they get comfortable, while i have my camera handy.....

if there's still ice on the road or the snow is too deep, we turn around and play at terranova route.

see you guys at 8.
