Seriously, you're a valuable asset here in the local ADV network. You're unselfish and share your knowledge. You're also a very good and safe rider that many noobs can look up to. Can we be sure you're not a secret agent from Sierra Club?

Aww, shucks...you say the nicest things.

But it's not all unselfish, I get tired of doing the same few trails/roads over and over. I then want to know which (and why?) the others I rode and drove as a younger fellow are closed. I used to have fun "rallying" down that road (5N04) to Little Rock Lake in an old Ford Fiesta...hmm, back then I never knew it was considered a "4WD" route.

Besides all that, I grew up in those mountains... fishing, skiing, hiking, etc., ...as much as I could anyway, so I know them pretty well. I also currently have more flexible/free time than most folks and I kinda like doing research (knowledge is power). I figure if I share the info with you all and that gets more ADVriders up there, maybe that will provide some incentive (shows a public demand/use) for "the powers that be" to open up more access. Of course, that means that we have to behave in a reasonably responsible fashion when using what limited options are currently available...otherwise we could lose those too. Gee, I am starting to sound like some kind of an "agent".

That said, stay the hell out of my mountains, and take someone out with you! Dang punks! Where do I get my grumpy ol' codger card?

my new Sierra Club t-shirt slogan: SAVE THE RUTS!!!

Let's wait for Sito to chime in! I'm sure we can sway KLRWoody to do the same.

As much as possible, let's stay away from AC, there will be a lot of emotions and tension this Saturday.

Don, I think so far, most of the local ADV riders are all responsibly matured. I haven't seen any of us going off the trails and causing any destruction. Only one I know was Pablo did a mini Exxon Valdez spill on Lynx, which was mitigated immediately and no trace of oil was left. No birds, toads, lizards, etc. were harmed.

We'll know by tonight where to meet, but most likely we will stick to the original plan, in front of 7-11 near Osborne at 7:30AM.

Our plan is do Little T, SCD, Pacifico, to Lynx and Hidden Springs.

I have a feeling that AC and Newcombs will be crowded so we're staying off those places.

Scorpion, one of these days I will go and join you at JV. If I have a 950 and a weekend, that will be easy to get to but not on a thumper. Unlike here, we get to do a 100 mile ride even on an XR400 and still be home by noon.
