Great day for a ride! I met Trid at Jay's Shell and we headed for Lynx. Our basic plan was to go up Lynx then pavement to BPL off of Aliso Cyn up BPL to Mt Gleeson, pavement down Mt Gleeson to Pacifico, Pacifico to ACH then Necomb's for lunch.

It was overcast starting out but once we got on Angeles Forest Hwy the sun was out and it was clear and beautiful. We jammed up Lynx with only a few stops.

Snack break for Trid:

Some of the water crossings on Lynx were deeper than usual. But no mishaps. We took the detour to Sito's hill then headed for Mill Creek. So far all roads were clear of snow. We headed up BPL not stopping much until we hit Mt Gleeson:

The XRL has had some mods over the last couple months and today was the first time I really felt like I was taking advantage of them. The new fork and shock springs and adding 3 teeth to the rear sprocket really helped this bike's handling.

We had hit a little snow towards the top of BPL but nothing that fully covered the road. That all changed when we got to Pacifico.

Trid walked up the road a little way to scout the trail ahead. It didn't get any better. So with burgers and beers calling our names we turned around and went to Hidden Springs.

Trid expresses his opinion of the road conditions ahead:

Great ride. Great time. Thanks Trid. I look forward to doing it again soon.

According to the ranger today, Chilao will open April 1st and that back gate to Pacifico May 15. We know Pacifico opens (legally) May 15 at Mill Creek.

This gate is still closed.

hey jeff, i will be getting a brake lever, better yet make that levers from dirt and sand...if you want, i can leave the neduro ds video with walt and you just pick it up from there. once you're done...pass it on to trailtoad (sorry aaron, nOObs get the priority).

we need to plan the next ride in the horizon before the "spangler test your ride skillz @ april 18th"

our choices....central cali pozo ride; santa barbara/ojai area; sawmill @ lake elizabeth; SCD trash recon #2; anything else ?

Thanks!

If we show that we care enough about our local riding trails to clean and adopt, this would go a long way in terms of PR for DS riders. Thanks Aaron!
