help me decide

the last time i rode the gs12 was 2 months ago, and before that 5 months ago.

should i sell it and regret later on...

keep it and preserve it for the next owner....

sell it and get a slightly smaller bike....

i hope your words will steer me to the right direction.....

this is perfect DS bike with more street then dirt ability and don't forget touring...
all you need to do is get better in riding it
the 650A can do what ever the 950SE can however with the GS you have options (touring and do some mild dirt roads)...
touring = 350 to 600 mile days (northern CA, Utah and so...)

my 2 cnt....
PS
GS is not dirt bike

I think you should burn everything and collect the insurance . Then buy a John Deere lawnmower and travel cross country mowing lawns for beer money, or in your case, iced tea money. Those things got tons of torque.

Joel, it all depends on what you want to do on a bike.. If it's all off road now, then sell it. As Danny pointed out it's not a dirt bike. IMHO the gs bikes were made to travel. They can do dirt, and even excel at it with the right rider, but it all comes down to what you want out of it. Personally, I think you should keep it, since you already have dirt bikes. This is unless there are financial reasons at play here other than "I want a new bike" reasons.

my .02cents

thanks for all the inputs and interested to hear more.

selling the 640A is not a bad idea but i would rather part it out. keep the trail trick suspension, fcr carb, scott damper, and cush hub rear. buying a new one is nice...posole vato has one, but won't happen soon since i need to get the exc running first.

most likely i will sell the gs and replace it with a hp2, still a big bike but lighter and more dirt oriented and with some touring capability. best of all....it has a driveshaft...

the se is probably the best dual sport big bike, while the 950A is the best adventure bike. i tend to like the se more, but not good nor tall enough to rider that F%^#!@ beast. the se is not for barely young riders like me .........................

i agree with dannyG and rruugger...the 640 or 690 or gs650 or xr650 (trid) or dakar650 (nmbmn) or dr650 (luv2race) can do most of what a se can do (except spit large amount of rocks and do 100mph all day long... )

the xr will have an electric start soon (i've been saying this for a year... ). i'm just $450 away from completing it. i like to keep it since it is the most reliable bike i've own.

the lawnmower deal is another fantastic idea...and i like the name pedro too....... rob....

I vote you keep the GS, and get a 450/530.
You would have your bases covered.
