nw, help me grow long legs and i'll buy it from you.

I've been really diggin' the 690 lately.

Nice picts Travel Toad, looks like a fun ride. That's not in the Big Bear area is it? Looks different. Meadows are very green.

Hey Mike (Nowwhat),

I'll trade you a "classic" GS and a "highly experienced" KLR for that worn out Austrian punkin'. 2 bikes for one, can't beat that.

Marty says we do it all in one day (and night, no doubt), no camping. In other words, "Socal ADVriders Last Man Standing Iron Butt Rally". Sign up now. Oh, "and the route shall encompass as much dirt as possible". Take your vitamins.

i need real food and a full meal to keep me going.

here's the initial plan and we need to pick a date

A. friday meet at 6pm: scd, 4n24, lynx, and camp at pacifico (dinner at newcombs)
B. saturday: pacifico and explore the trails along angeles crest all the way via wrightwood to lytle creek. camp near lytle creek or between wrightwood and cajon junction
C. sunday: ride to big bear via coxey and have lunch. after lunch...pioneer town or those with short leash could bail out.

we will be traveling loaded with camping equipment, this ride will be a yellow mellow. but, if we can find someone with a support vehicle, we can stash all our shit so we can move a little faster.

those who prefer not to camp or wants to ride for a day or two, we will have designated meeting places.

please let me know what you think or have other ideas.....

690 is on my very very short list. I has been HiP-No-TIZED!. The Dakar is too heavy for as much as I tend to have to lift it.

The Short list: Husky 510, husky 610, Ktm 450, 530, 690, BMW X-challenge.
Basically it will be whichever one I can find cheap when I get some dinero. Unless I get completely talked down off one of them.

After you pre crash it a couple times I'm hoping you'll let me ride it

Also, FYI about a month ago Malcolm smith had a 690r for $9400. Dunno if they still have it though.
