Mt Baldy

Hey guys,

I was just looking at a google map of Angeles Forest and was wondering if any of you know if it's possible to get from Mt Baldy village via Mt Baldy Rd to Lytle Creek or if this is a paved or dirt road with a locked gate.

I just got my bike back together and was going to try a quick 150 mile loop

Thanks for any help!

Yep,

Mt Baldy Rd to Baldy Rd to Lytle Creek Rd (left) which turns into Sheep Creek Truck trail (right). Then take a right on Sheep Canyon, or go left and head to Baldy Mesa Rd, which will take you to Alta Loma and anywhere in the Mojave desert you want to go.

All dirt from Sheep Creek Truck Trail, except for a little bit of asphalt from Sheep Canyon to the 138. Maybe two miles. You can bypass this by staying right at the bottom of Sheep Canyon, then crawl up the single track to the North East of you and ride to the train track and cross the 138 over to Baldy MEsa Rd.

I'd download some GPx tracks but my S/W package is f'd up. Just go explore. Lots to ride there.

My Monday ride. Hwy2 to Newcombs for breakfast. Had to ride the 2 all the way to the 15. Then rode Cleghorn to the Silverwood dam. Climbed up to pinnacles staging area. Found 3n33 to deep creek back to the hwy 173. Conneceted to the 18 till I reached 210. I rode the 210 all the way till euclid where I stopped on the fwy for a down harley rider. It looked like he had high arm break. I waited till the chp showed up and left. When I got home I had almost 200 miles for the day. It was a nice easy paced day. It was almost perfect till the down harly rider. Ben

It was really sore after I got home. But when I woke up today it was back to normal. I still don't have full range yet. But I have started doing weights the last few weeks. I think the full motion should be back in another month. Ben
