got back from visiting jon in the hospital a while ago, and he's doing great for being under the knife only about 12 hours ago.

i asked the same question i do to all my friends who are relatively new to riding after they hurt themselves: "so, are you going to quit riding because of this?" to his wife's utter disgust, he quickly answered "hell, no!"

so the good news is, he'll be back. he'll probably be living vicariously through the rest of us for the next few weeks, so make sure to ride often, and take lots of pics, and post 'em up here!

the one on the far right is a 690E with custom tank...i think that's the way to go...

I sold the 400lb bike for a reason....

a member here is a making a nice little 1.25 gallon aux tank that goes where the airbox is now...

that will be 4.5 gallons at 35mpg....160 miles before I have to bum gas off of the big bikes....

L.A. Weekend Riders Annual Local Rally

Just throwing this ahead of time.... please if you have some suggestions, let us know. All the local routes in 1 weekend....

July 17, 18, and 19th

Friday:
4 PM meet at 7-11 on Osbourne. Ride SCD, Lynx, Pacifico, and camp at Horse Flats Campground near Newcombs. Dinner at Newcombs.
Those coming late, just meet at the Mill Creek around 7 PM. This a night ride...


Saturday:
Ride to Wrightwood for brunch, to Old Pine Canyon, Lytle Creek, to Cleghorn (skip the sand wash), to Hesperia, to Coxey, and camp at Holcomb Valley Campground. Dinner at Big Bear City.


Sunday:
Brunch at Grizzly Manor (Big Bear City)
Explore the Big Bear Area, Ride home via the same route we rode up and take the sandwash (there's an optional detour).
Ride home via Old Pine Canyon, HW2 to Angeles Crest to Upper Big T to AFH to Big T to Oro Vista (Sunland).

AAHHHHH! out of the asylum. Thanks for the well wishes guys I appreciate it. Sorry Joel, no bikes for sale, I don't give up that easy. Just bummed I'm gonna miss the Tahoe ride, dumb luck. How's the "Salute" pict? can't tell if that was pre or post morphine .
