So I'm in, but will bring Colt 44 mag and Siggy .45
I got my Armalite when the governor told me I should get one.
I tried to get the Barrett .50 they were on backorder for months
RIP ~ That is FUNNY!!!

So last Saturday's ride I wanted to try out my new hemet camera and modified seat. I got a used seat for my DR350 off ebay and went to work on it with the carving knife.

Glued on some high density foam.

Now seat is about 2 inches lower and at least and inch wider.

Comparing the seat to my recent day trip to Big Bear it is an improvment but needs some softer foam over the high density stuff.

I have learned that editing 2 hours of Video takes quite a bit of time. Also my computer does not seem to be able to handle that much data. Probably need to add more memory and maybe a better video card.

It turns out that dust collects on the lens of the camera:

This causes some strange optical effects when the direct sunlight hits the lens (more noticable in the second video). When pointed away from the sun or in shade the dust just causes a little loss of resolution.

Anyway here are the videos.

On the way home, my glasses spontaneously broke inside my goggles. I always carry a spare pair of glasses. I fixed them with a little duct tape.

Yesterday I went to the optometrist and put down about $600 between Eye esam, new glasses with clip-ons, and some sports-type prescription glasses. Since I'll have to do this every couple years, it's starting to make Lasik seem more attractive.

sorry, this ride officially require no support vehicle (but i can't stop anyone in doin so), bring only we can carry on the bike. i'm afraid if we have truckload of shit, and knowing the guys....we may have a bang as loud as the july 4th celebration.....

basically, we are trying to simulate an adventure ride like in the old west, where we have to have protection venturing in the wilderness, except the differences are we have them in a padlocked case and discharge our firearms in the shooting range with marshalls....

we can set the date on july 11 or 25 or aug 15 or 22.

Fyi!!

As a former state firearms instructor there are a couple things you need to be aware of if transporting a firearm on the bike.

1st off it is looked upon very unkindly to do so in national forest (firearms that is) but the more important point is the gun must be transported in a locked container SEPARTE from any ammunition. Also dont carry loaded magazines. There is a loop hole in the law that looks at those as a loaded firearm.

Stupid I know, so be safe and just transport the gun by itself in a locked case and you will be fine. No loaded magazines or speed loaders if you use a wheel gun, and ammo in another locked container will get you taken care of for the most part.

You can transport the magazine with the gun if a semi auto but make sure no ammo is in it.

Just some friendly advice, sounds like a blast might have to make a go at this as well.....
