Be warned, if you're looking at places like Moab, it can be pretty warm there by the end of June.

Off topic... any of you local yokels have use for an old, but well running refrigerator? (18.6 cu ft) I have one for you free if you want it. Otherwise it may get set out on the curb soon. It would be a good garage fridge for beer and ice cream or whatever, or if you have a keg-o-rator in mind. Anyway, PM me if you have any interest. I have an old full size stand up freezer too, bought back when my dad and I did a lot of fishing, but it hasn't been plugged in for years. If you are interested in that send me a PM and after I verify it's working I'll get back to you. Alright, sorry for the distraction, but thought I'd do a little community service.

Will be getting out of town July 30th about noon time... don't know yet GS or RV or truck with XC or CRF...
if driving possibly have room for some camping gear.

The temps were quite varied, my mistake was not bringing my body armor to wear under my Kilimanjaro jacket. The ideal setup is to take the protection out of your riding jacket and wear a jersey and mesh body armor under it. That way when it heats up you can put the jacket away and still have ATGATT. I ended up riding in a tee shirt and taking chances.

thanks don..... maybe we could set the date sometime in MAY instead, a little cooler throughout, regardless of elevation.......... and of course it keeps the drinks cold a lot longer if they last.....

It was cold in some areas but hot in others, if your talking Moab then that was on the hot side of the scale. If you are talking the mountains and altitude then it will be cooler, but the where will dictate alot of the When.

If you want to have some fun in Santa barbara, I did this yesterday.
The lower is mostly dirt. The lower loop is on top of the ridge between 154 and SB.
Look left the ocean, look right lake cachuma.
