2wheelsgood convinced me to get a koerta, and i just snagged one on the fleamarket for $140 shipped. once i moved to malibu or OC, then i can afford a dainese....

hey mark, when are we going to ride again?. funny, sopascat always thought "oni" was just a net rider......

Finding some trails on the San Andreas Fault Line. :-)
You can tell I wasn't planning on offroading when you see my top box on the bike.

Fun little trail.

This is when I realized, wait - my tires are bald and I didn't lower my air pressure! This might get interesting!

Survived! This is where the trail joins back up to the main road.

Almost looks like a street-tire now, huh? Thread is quickly coming to an end too.

Road following the San Andreas Fault Line. Fun!

Found some more dirt, and reached the railroad tracks. Just accross from the old Historic Route 66.

Got up to an abandoned section of old Route 66. Saw a plane flying directly overhead and wondered if I was about to get a visit.

Decided I should get off of that road, just in case.

Nice pix, Serg. I know right where that's at. I like that last one a lot.

What's the big idea riding when i'm stuck slaving away?

Marty

True, but I'd rather sweat than bleed. I doubt I'll be riding my XR650L like my real dirt bikes, so the pace s/b a lot mellower. In my old school early 70s MX days, we wore leather pants and jackets, those were the days!

Thanks, I'm looking forward to meeting you all!
I have got as low 76 miles on one of these local rides. I still had some gas but I had to lay the bike down to able to use it. Carry some extra fuel you will need it. Buy a bigger tank as soon as you can. It will get old going to the gas station every day. Ben

Well, it's not completely bald - yet! Getting very close tho!
You know me... I like getting every mile out of my tires:

This is on my road bike (big scooter), and for those of you who saw my bald tire on a road ride to Big Bear - this is NOT that same tire! Big Bear was the last ride I did with that tire before I replaced it. This one simply failed. Has under 2,000 miles on it. Heck - I don't even think it has 1,000! Was OK before a ride, and was toast after - 200 miles later!

Tire still holds air, but haven't ridden it since. Waiting on $ to replace the tire, service it, maybe sell it too (to get another bike).

And no, those aren't "chicken strips", that's dirt from my driveway.

Thanks.
That was on Sunday. You work Sunday?

I really want to go on a ride following as much of Route 66 as possible, at least all of CA's.

i bought the 2 fronts and will pick them up soon. if you're interested on the rear and able to pay shoco (mike), i can pick your tire from him too.

mark, a few resident female spiders are pregnant and i do not want to mess them up. can we wait after all the kids are big enough and have no need for maternal caring?...........

those klim moab held up pretty good, only the mesh fabric was damaged during my slow and low skid.

I'll wear my leather pants, if you go down on pavement, that's the best protection.

But, I may get super moto style upper gear for the summer months, and wear my armored leather jacket in the cooler months.....I'm still looking at all of my options, including Aerostitch gear.

I use to MX in leather pants in SoCal heat back in the day, it wasn't bad at all.
