I am in for the October Rehab ride. Papa Bear. I fractured my left shoulder and I was off the bike for 8 weeks. When I did return I took it easy on the trails for another 4 more more weeks. Then I broke not fractured my right shoulder. it needed surgery to repair. Its now been 8 weeks today and I still can't wipe my ass with my right hand. I think ill be able to ride in another 4 to 6 weeks from now. Give time and take it easy. Ben

I can't make it to KM either...
so I plan on hitting the local ANF this saturday.

I'm thinking of riding something a little like...

7-11 at orovista Sat. 8ish am
to Big Tujunga
to monte cristo
to upper lynx
to pacifico
to Angeles Crest 2
to Wrightwood for lunch. (I still haven't ridden the newly opened 2!)
to big pines hwy
to juniper hills fun park area
to mt Emma rd area
to either AFH home or 4n32 to Aliso and up to SCD etc etc...

100-150 miles - gas in WW.

fun, slow and easy! Any takers?

This sounds great but I'm a total noob on a big GS and wouldn't want to hold ya up.

I've ridden the SCD once and managed to keep it upright, but not familiar with the rest of the roads except for reading about them here. I'd probably have to peel off after Wrightwood as I need be back in Hermosa around 2ish.

If you are ok dragging a noob along...I'd be up for it

skip monte cristo and lynx....proceed and ride to mill creek parking lot, where lynx ends. enjoy your drink, and wait for them. pacifico is gs friendly.

have fun

I'll see you guys at 7-11 satuday morning as well. I"ll probably have to bail somewhere between Newcombs and Writewood, like dstock. but, intend to have a good time until then anyways................

Thanks Joel...can you point me in the direction of the parking lot? Having trouble locating it on the map...google maps is not helping.

I see where Pacifico and Angles Forest HWY intersect....

Thanks!

that's the one.

it's about 100 yards below afh. scd is on the opposite side. a little uphill ride and you'll see it on your right. there's a big dirt parking lot next to the road.

Brilliant Joel, thanks.

Longrider - if I can get a rough estimate when you think you'd reach there, I can join up for the easier stuff...

Just make sure you do yourself a favor and have knobbies on the GS (TKC80's). You can get an idea of what some of the roads look like by checking out my video clips from last weekend (keep in mind the fisheye lens doesn't really give a good perspective of vertical ascent and descents).

Its back on page 564.
