Back to riding plans and this weekend

Arrowhead/Big Bear

Sito,
I will meet up with ya @ the pinnacles, but I'm gonna do nOOb trails and head toward Holcome Valley for some flat/easy roads (following doc's riding plan to prevent a re-break and build up some upper body strength)

I wish I was going for the single track

Anybody interested in a total nOOb ride with lunch in big bear let me know.

I plan on parking at the staging area off 138 a couple o miles up from silverwood lake and then ride up to your area meet up with ya 8:30ish, it's 5-10 miles mostly roads. (saves gas in the van)

I can't find my maps right now and can't remember the name, but will look up the staging areas name and post it.

Don't forget your forest adv pass if your leaving a vehicle at the staging areas, ranger check for that and spark arresters.

Charlie

What time you planning on parking the van? Being there...

Isn't the Pinnacles staging area off the 178? Looks like that is more than 10 miles away. Other side of arrowhead.

Yes, the Pinnacles staging area is off the 173, but this is a different one off the 138. Ride dirt in between the 2 areas that's why only short distance.
But this staging area is off the 138 at Miller Rd. just up the road from Silverwood Lake and the NW junction of the 138 & 173.

Take the 15N to the 138E to left at Miller Rd stay on dirt road and you will see the staging area.

Look for a white Ford E350 Van.

I'll be there 7:30ish

No ride pavement - all dirt between the 2 area - mostly fire roads and some easy intermedite single track, way fun and a much shorter drive up/park and then ride then to go all the way to the Pinnacles staging area.

This place has pit toilets and lots of shade from trees - never crowded or dusty.

Dana Pt to there is 1.5 to 2 hours, instead of 2 - 2.5 hours for the pinnacles

Are you talking about Cedar Springs staging area next to Pilot Rock Truck Trail on the N/E side of the lake?

Or drink his beer.

I'm not trying to hi jack sito's riding plans, I'm just going to be re-hab riding in the area and will swing by to down a beer or 2

Posting up ito see if anyone is interested in an easy ride. I don't think sito's riding easy trails.

Joel
Fun riding in that area, but more tech trails then roads, the only way to crab flats and then holcome valley is black diamond from that side, that's why I want to meet up with sito and say hi and then ride on pavement around deep creek and pick up the dirt on the crab flats side - tour through holcome and lunch in BB - then as much dirt as the shoulder will allow back to sito's rig for an afternoon beer, then back to the van.

I'm not yet ready to risk a re-break before TT's ride in the Piutes.
