the wide open desert gives us the feeling of freedom and twist the throttle harder.

well said...

the basic rule is "take care of the person behind you", maintain visual contact as much as possible, especially if there are hazards and obstacles.

the biggest mistake is not learning from our mistakes!

1) I thought Sat was a lot of fun, and we did a great job of keeping everyone together!

2) Unfortuntely, in the dez, you need to get a little separation between riders due to the dust. Otherwise, that's a death wish with cross ruts, big rocks and cross traffic!

3) Yep, if you want to haul ass do some D37 desert races, everyone is going in the same direction and the course is well marked.

I go to the track if I want to haul ass, that's why I have an MX and sumo track bike! I don't mind riding at a decent pace, but riding "stupidly fast" on group rides is not smart!

Don't blow this out of proportion.. First off Earl with all respect you weren't on the ride. Nobody was hauling ass or riding "stupidly fast". As a matter of fact
When we lost the riders we were going less than 15mph. Shit happened, we failed Rzr and the other rider. We also would have not left the dez until we found them
Period.

Earl, your right if you want to really fly through the desert......go ride the district 37 races, thats alot of fun. I think on these rides, maybe we need to run 2 groups. 5-6 riders that have riden together and move pretty well together and another group. Have a meeting place or two along the route for the whole group. I'm happy in eithter group. I like to ride with all you knottheads But most important pleasure.......I mean wait for the rider behind you!

I received some (2) free tickets from my dealer for this Saturday's Supercross opener.
Unfortunately I will attending a funeral instead.
I would like to pass these on to a couple of LA Weekend riders.
All I ask is that the tickets are in fact used and not sold.

johngilent@gmail.com

Let me know ASAP.

All n' all I think the system that we call "L.a. weekend riders" works very well. We all get to ride ALOT! No one gets lost (for very long), and you have opptions so you dont end up riding over your head. Most important is to do what we can if someone gets hurt. And actually we have that covered with GPS, sat phones and group rides. Hell, I got a flat last Sat. I had tools, compressers, tubes and 5 guys helping me in less than 5 minutes! I'm sure it would be the same if I were lost or had a broken bone. Thank you guys!
