It will handle a 1200 GS easily. I bought it to start a towing business towing Harley's. It's called a TK loader, and in fact it might be for sale cheap if you're interested. I have to move to Seattle for a while and I wasn't sure if I should try towing bikes up there or not. I even have a dodge mounting bracket

Are you talking about my high tech remote brake light activator? I had that engineered special for me by a buddy over at Northrop here in Redondo

I gotta give credit though, that's not "mud" that's more like a black hole.

For as often as you do the full moon ride, I would recommend it.

BUT, as rough as you are on the bike maybe not

Don't get me wrong, it is pretty tough, but they do say it's for distance/comfort and not really for going out on the weekend and JUMPING for example.

I cracked mine pretty good in a couple spots in Baja, but then again it was a pretty good hit and it did survive... (bent the crap out of my top clamp, Handlebars and brake rotor)

there's a pretty well known guy in Seattle that tows and of course most of his business is with the Hardley crowd.

AND most of the riders up there( or I should say the "fair weather" riders ) only have 6 months of riding which is only 6 months of tow service business.

but the trails around the Olympic Peninsula are epic!

A friend of mine that works for transworld magazine own a 2006 crfx450. He got it from a Company that was testing it out to see if it would make a good DS bike. It is plated in California. Hey got it for $2300 with 6800 miles. It was all tricked out too. He maybe rides it 6 times a year. I already made him a few offers for it. But he does not want to be without a dirtbike, that's what he use it for. I have taken it for a few rides. If I was you I would try to find one. Its a great ds bike if you limit the highway miles.
