Use the Uni. Sell the K&N I don't trust them. If you want to barrow any of my sand stuff let me know. I have a paddle, flag and flag axle mount. I also use a worn front with 15 psi. Ben

My ride started off like this:

After the first desent my bike took decided to drop a load in the parking lot:

Later I finally had my virgin encounter with the ground:

I only followed that up with about 7 more for the day. Thanks to all who helped to right me and my bike several times all while giving encouragement. I guess we all got to start somewhere right? Damage for the day: (1) mirror, some plastic scratches, and a melted turn signal that's already been klr'd.

It was definitely a great day to ride.

The sky this winter has been really good. I've enjoyed my commute to work more than previous years and find myself taking this route more often than not just to get the view. If only it stayed like that all year long.

Mark.

It was fun to ride with you Mark. Just remember that with this group if you need to catch you breath then take the time to do it. No hurry.

I have a stock, uni and K&N air filter for the bike witch do you think be the best for keeping the sand/salt out?
I think I will also be investing one of those pre screens for the air box.
For dirt use, Uni!

That's what I have in my XR650L, tards and my dirt bikes. I use Uni air filter oil and have had no issues with particulate matter getting past the sealing surfaces.

I'm not a fan of K&N filters for dirt use, but they're great for street use.

Oh boy...........another couple of hours turns out to be 3 weeks. The camcorder spits out these .mts files that Youtube seems to digest OK but then starts to do the shake 15 seconds in. So I just downgraded the quality to get them up.

Anyway, it was a lately posted ADV ride, standard Hillclimb - Ruugger and Rhinoeater go up, Nowwhat, Yzlvr and Toast looking on.
Let the video queue up, HD.

sunday ride

regrouping at the bottom of tule trail

seeing the shadow, we knew the day is gettting shorter

who knows how many more big boulders are precariously lodging above this hill side.

john and i still have time to play

meanwhile the rest of the crew is waiting patiently for us outside the trailhead

took the short pavement that connects tule to rowher; not really that dark, just the cheap camera.

ahhhh, back on dirt again

the revkieker

bb is getting good in waiting at the junction; he must have learned it the hard way....

mark aka reverendkieker was undecided whether to do the 3x blk diamond or int

obligatory shot of the lake

atop rowher looking down acton?

sito........ and john..

3 of the 5 riders we only saw that afternoon on rowher

hello..

double hello from razr...

mark and the awesome background

everyone's humble slave ..........

even my cheap camera can do this!..

one final obstacle to cross..

we made it to the staging area, a gorgeous day and no crashy for me...

double pussified; getting a smaller bike and trucking..

hope you enjoy the rr and pics; rruugger, razr, and xymotic have some cool pics i think......
