rob fixing his tail bag after the 12 pack almost fell off

Sopascat able to hang with us from the start

still with paper plate

lepermasia led the way

go cathy go...

jaynen bike remained in one piece throughout the ride

the pig is at home on pavement but proved to be worthy on the dirt too

the only ktm today

nice view of SCD

you'll never get bored...lots of curves

eventually we found dirt

beautiful weather can't be beat

no beer was spilled here

nOOb for now

good thing about the ride, no 950 spitting rocks

SCD was treaded lightly today

it didn't take long for jaynen to learn how to tailgate

and the noob was quick to know how to stay on the pegs

unusual to see a mild mannered orange bike

no smog in the divide

could not help to take a pic of a clear scenery

more pics after dinner...

Thanks guys was a lot of fun. Wish I had the time to be more relaxed and head off to breakfast/lunch with you.

Made it to the course 15 minutes late I didn't get to my house until about 10:30 which is when i wanted to be leaving. Needless to say plans of shower and shave and getting changed went out the window and I did a mad scramble of removing MX gear and leaving it in a pile on the floor and finding my truck keys.

But now I can't find my house keys

Rode 3rd most the pavement felt good tho and was fast enough to be having fun.

Was in 2nd for a most the rocky/dirty/dusty/gravel bits, especially enjoyed leading a little bit after we split with the BPL group.

The ride down AFH to Big Tujunga was easy no one behind me no one in front of me so I made my own speed which was at times a bit over the speed limit on the straights :) Reserve light when on when I got near my house. Dang small tank but it was enough.

I tried to work on my standing body position and get more forward, and hug the tank with my knees to take some of the weight off while not locking my legs or elbows. Definitely felt like the bike was moving better underneath me that way but it wore out my wrists and elbows. (funny that I don't notice it bothering my legs to stand if anything its my butt thats sore after today!)

Breaktime at the BPL junction

So as not to get the vets bored, I suggested that they take BPL down to Sito's Trail then ride up on 4N33 or 4N24?

Artboy lead the BPL group, if they get lost, that means they're not following the power line above

Bruce, then the Martian...the feelers don't come out till night falls

Following Rob, you're going to eat dust rruuger

The other group took the shortest route so we can get Jaynen to AFH asap

reBARman wasn't in the mood of picking up a sleeping pig, he decided to ride with us.

sopascat did good today...smooth ride, yeah...no sprained ankle

big bike or small, they got along fine and give the same salute

reBARman's pig feel at home on the divide

Sopascat got her form back

made it to AFH and came across some bikers at the parking lot

and this guy's poor bike, he had a flat and then, pinched his spare tube, duh! and he was glad to see us

can't say no to someone in need of help, ended up giving up my spare

Thanks for taking the pics for sure.

Did the other group manage to hit any water crossings?

I sure liked having those Dirt bagz to put my jacket into when we got up to SCD.

So tell us about these knee braces how much did that spare set you back?

The fit was very good and I didn't want to take them off.

I know the store owner and he gave me a 10% discount or $60. He'll gave the same price to anyone I know.

same thing as this one

Yes ate plenty of dust from Rob's bike, but I must say it was of a fine vintage with aroma of Dakar, sage and distant hint of asphalt.

Mill Creek Summit parking lot

hmmmm....the drz seems to have a little problem here , the teeth's gone

Artboy was wondering if any of the FFs are going to help him

Thanks Rob for coming out even though you skipped Pacifico

posing on mt. pacifico

the shade is the best place to have

we're getting close to angeles crest

pacifico is a cool road, it will take you to newcombs without worrying about the squids.

the rescue team and leos were there at the crest

lots of road bikes this morning

and all sorts

chromes

and more chromes

and finally lunch

After lunch, we head down on Angeles Crest...not too many bikes coming up and down. Saw couple of m/c hw patrol, the dirt ride was fun, and coming down on the twisties is a bonus....rruugger and I had a blast going around the corners until we run out of twisties.

Another good day of riding...thanks guys and cathy

Thanks for posting the pics Joel! Next time, maybe I'll try the harder routes, so I can practice my bike lifting technique.

See you guys soon, Great way to spend a Saturday morning

Yeah baby yeah...no one got roosted, no broken headlight lens and faceshields,..... no need for chest protectors.....

We left SCD and Pacifico the way we found them....they were threaded gently!

After all the hard work at WMRS, give your 950s a rest.....
