billy and the bike...could this be the first KotW champ...

we were blessed, dust at the minimum; the ground wasn't too dry at all and lots of puddle at various places

little dust and tailgating wasn't a problem

Joel, have you considered starting a La Weekend ride thread in the RR section? I'm sure there are people that would enjoy your RRs, but don't venture into the West>LA Weekend thread. You could do it like you all did for DV: talk about ride in the thread in the regional forum, and have pix/RRs in the RR forum.

Just a thought.

never thought of it marty and sounds like a great idea; even better, make it a southern california rides. a chance for the rest of the adv world to discover that los angeles is not just about celebriites, silicone boobs, hollywood, drugs, smog, congested freeways, disneyland, etc.

they will also find out that socal is the KTM capital of the world...

I hope Y'all don't mind me crashing Sito's party! Real fun ride yesterday guys and cliffhanger! I truly enjoyed myself. I'm lucky I didn't get a ticket speeding home to hookup with my wife to go to another birthday party in L.A. But I made it! I see some of you at The Western Adventure Riders Party and Endurance Drinking Trip! Woot...Woot!

john jumped off his bike and we rushed to see cathy

cathy looks fine when we got there

luckily both cathy and bike landed only about 10 feet below; here's john securing a tow rope around the front fork.

i decided to call help since we didn't think 3 people can haul the bike up. so i rode to catch the FFs, and saw the marathon race volunteers along the way

i kept riding for about another mile to get the FFs but decided that they're already too far by now since it has been over 30 minutes had passed.
turn around and talked to the volunteers and asked for assistance and more ropes.

great to see people helping people....

thanks to these 3 men....

cathy surely left a big impression on this ride......

more pics coming and the videos too...

The rollover part was not planned. I still don't quite know how, but when the ropes were pulled, over she went. I think the bar end dug in and let us just flop the bike over and on to the road.
We would not have been able to get going without the help of the two volunteers Joel rounded up.
