ok, before i scare away the lollygaggers...yeah, it's just my paranoia, cuz after i turned 40 many years ago, i lost my immortality and my outlook is never the same....

hw33, lockwood valley, and the hidden gem..cerro noroeste... are all fun highways. lots of curves and more curves...and like other canyon roads there could be some objects on the other side of the turn. just be careful, but see and enjoy your tax dollars...

All great roads, but no off roading?

Swing through Gorman on the way back?

[quote/]brunch in ojai at emporium cafe @ 10 am. if coming, please post so we can make a reservation.

l.a. riders meet at roxford off the 5fw at 8:30 am.[/quote]

West siders meet at Camarillo's Amtrak Station off the 101 at Lewis Rd. 8:30 am

We can take some twisties up to Ojai, have breakfast and decide on what route to take from the 33. I think Quatal Canyon Rd to the Cerro Noestre Rd. to Carrizo Plains would be a good dirt / street compromise.

I was up 33 last weekend. There are not many but there are some corners that still have gravel and rock in them. Driving like a grandma ( sopascat) I didn't have a problem avoiding them. I was up Apache, there is still water in the creeks. I would expect the same on the lockwood valley crossings.

I must wait for the RR. My plans involve a shovel and 9 yeards of dirt to remove from my yard. The sooner I am done the sooner I can get to riding again.

I went through 33 a few weeks ago and there was gravel on either side of the tunnels in the middle of the lane.

there will be dirt but may not be too exciting for some...

on the way back, we'll take cerro noroeste to frazier park; if there's still plenty of daylight, i would like to ride through hungry valley.

question??? ....someone told me we don't have to pay to get through if we stay on the main road (gold hill)????.......

Tell them that you are going to Alamo Mtn. Then they won't charge you. At least they didn't several years ago. Might want to check the snow level before you say that...

Hearing all this makes me want to join you guys and end up at Gorman, where my brother will likely be camping with his family in the motor home. Let's see... Ride the GS or TRANSALP all day and then ride to my destination at Gorman, where my XR and a warm shower will be waiting for me. All I would need is a tropy girl to greet me , but that ain't gonna happen
