Same here, I drilled the snorkel rivets out then tossed the snorkel & stock paper filter, and put in a UNI, but I left the exhaust and emissions alone. I used a .020" washer for shimming the needle up. I bought my 4 mm Hex head screws at my local Ace hardware store, you'll need short length (~6 mm) for the slide cover, and medium length (~12 mm) for the float bowl cover. Amazing what a dense cool charge of fuel and air will do for an engine, mine runs SO much cooler and better now!

Different topic, I really like my stock Dunlop tires, but are only sold at Honda dealers. Just curious what tires you're running? I've read that the Kenda 270 5.10X18 is the way to go for the rear, with some liking a more aggressive front tire like D606, or soft Cheng Shin trials tire!

I run Metzeler tires on my Husky 610SM street tard, and was lookng at their Sahara 3 dual sport tires, any inputs?

I'm boring I just run the 606 front and back, I've been thinking about trying the Pirelli Scorpion Pro All Terrain/Enduro Klammer uses them and they seem to do great by him I think there even more aggressive than the 606 and a bit cheaper. Hay did your bike come with a tool kit mine didn't but I just saw one in the OEM parts catalog?

Joel,

You know this guy sounds and looks a lot like Rruugger to me.

The same avatar and all of the same bikes. What's up with this? Or did I miss a name change at some time?

Earl do not run the kenda 270. The knobs are tall causing the bike to lay over on turns. If you ask anyone. They always say the tire runs better after they have some miles on them. That's because the knobs have to wear done. If you want a cheap rear tire look at the Shinko 244. Its a copy of the kenda 270. But it is made with a softer rubber compound and shorter knobs. So the lay over feeling is not as bad as the kenda. It also cheaper and almost has the same wear miles too. I run a 606 front and rear now. But ill will be using a 606 front and Michelin T 63 rear next. I have been told that it gets alot on miles. It is almost like a tkc 80 but it sells for $52- $55 at Motorcyclesuperstpre.com. The Shinko 244 is only good for a rear tire. Ben
