If I can schedule it I would be interested in the night ride and the pre-run.

I have an extra set of boots I think got them with my old bike, Thor somethings size 10 I think? not even sure too small for me and I already had gear when I bought the bike.

They are gonna get donated to the dirt safety school if no one else needs.

Turn in a list of what you need and the size....like Javier, many of us here have stuff that we can pass on to you.

PM me if that's your preference.

Well, I have a size 9 foot in womens and it's a 7 1/2 in mens. If there are some boots around with some life in them still...we can deal.

Jersey and Pants on the way. Gloves have arrived. (Do you know how hard it is to find stuff cut for a woman that doesn't have pink on it?)

Still wondering about the helmet. How much do I really need to spend? DOT/Snell approved is pretty much it...right? Or is there something I don't know?

Same question about the roost deflector. How much do I need to spend? Can I get away with a used one?

Oops...nearly forgot...what should I look for in goggles?

BTW...had my bike up to freeway speeds Saturday...where's this wobble everyone talks about? I'm being cheated. I want my money back!

Any DOT/Snell helmet will do good for protection. The higher priced helmets may be a bit more comfortable and probably have better ventilation and a little bit lighter. As long as it has DOT/Snell though, you won't have to worry about your noggin.

Roost deflector, you can get them pretty cheap. Many of us wear pressure suits which offer more protection. I think Alpinestar make a female specific one. Pressure suits usually offer front, back, shoulder and forearm protection with armor and padding. Roost deflectors are usually just plastic shells meant to deflect...roost. They help some in crashes though. Downside of pressure suits...they get kinda warm when not moving.

Nowwhat has one under his jersey...which is a good idea when you run into buses!

I sometimes wear an Acerbis Koerta. You can see some of the armor in this pic. (Note...wearing Acerbis jacket with sleeves zipped off or you would see more of the suit)

It also has a stout articulated back panel and chest panels along with a kidney belt.

Goggles...I'd say stick with a major brand...Scott, Oakley, Fox etc. That way you can be sure to get replacement lenses, or tinted lenses which may be hard to find in the cheaper brands. I got a brand new pair of Scott's goggles at Scott's Performance in Montrose for the night ride.

I prefer to pack 18 beers in my backpack, two more in each chest pocket of my jacket and a ham sandwich in my crotch. The beers add padding as long as they're full, and as they get empty you just don't care anymore. The ham sandwich needs no explainin......................right

Do you splash when you crash?

I like the added protection of the pressure suit, and you don't look like a transformer.

I've priced pressure suits. Uh...be doin' the roost thing until the finances can be got for the suit. (I'm one of those wierd people who lives without a credit card.)

I like that jacket with the zip off sleeves. Another thing to go on the "Dear Santa..." list.
