Domino- Glad you made it and stayed reasonably dry. Yea, it sucks to find out "rain proof" gear isn't ~250 miles from home.

A couple of alternate route suggestions for the future:

1- Take 61 from Charleston/Summerville to 78. Nice scenery and you miss several small towns/potential speed traps that you hit if you take 78 the whole way.

2- Another is to take 78 to 178 to Orangeburg, then take 601 a few miles west to 4, follow that north/west until it runs into 78 just below Aiken. There's some nice scenery on 4.

New ADV Rider in Charleston

Hey all, I've been a lurker on the site for a little while now, and ran across this thread.

I'm on a Triumph Tiger, having recently switched over from a Sprint ST, and have few other horses in the garage for other times. Unfortunately weekends are the only time off, with the exception of the holidays, but I'd like to find some like-minded riders out there to get together with, swap lies, chew some good food and take a ride. I have a decent sized garage and have helped a couple of friends out with wrench fests and maintenance issues, the more the merrier!

A riding buddy of mine (TJHess74 on the forums) and I like to sit at Poe's on Sullivans Island and watch the bikini clad.... er, I mean, the beautiful scenery go by. We make it over that way every couple of months as time permits. Though it's a bit chilly outside now and the bikini's are hibernating, maybe it's something to plan for the Spring? The food isn't bad either.....

I'm looking forward to catching up to a few of you. Until then, ride safe!

Next Charleston ADV dinner

Guys -

Domino is right, Wednesday, December 10 (second Wednesday of the month) is the date of our next scheduled Charleston Area ADV Dinner ! Yeah, I know, it snuck up on me, too.

Anybody have any preferences or suggestions? Something fancy-schmancy? Something Christmassy? Something on a budget? What's the concensus?

Post up so we can put our tiny little heads together and pick a place before it's too late, OK?

Rob

I hope to make it. A rash of funerals seems to have prevented my attendance recently...

Looks like it'll be wet and warm tomorrow night.

What would constitute something being "Christmassy?" As long as I wouldn't have to drink eggnogg, I'd push for that.

Opening Bid

In the absence of other suggestions I'm going to suggest Andolini's on Rivers. Is anyone willing to brave the rain?
