Maybe someplace around the halfway mark. Have the gas cans for the top-off
Maybe at a nice shaded creek crossing,,, pond or along the Yellow River area.
Have some quality hot dogs cookin with the works for the riders.
Eat the leftovers when the day is done at the staging area
I think that's the answer. It will cut several hours off the trail time and allow more time for meet and greet.

Timberlake would be the good place. Great area with lots of tables, never crowed, easy to reach in a pickup. No swimming but in Nov that may not be an issue. The problem is getting truck in to the good spots. And of couse someone would have to be responsible for that and NOT RIDE...

And yes I think Phil and I will ride this year and hopefully someone else can run support.

I've got about 8 or 9 half used knobbies for anyone that wants them. Some S12's and M12's, Trackmaster II's, Maxis Desert IT's, and some other stuff for anyone that wants them. Maybe 5 rears and 3-5 fronts. 18 and 21's. Most came off the KTM 400 RFS.

It's starting to look like a horror movie towards the back of my shop.

The Trott

This year I say we tie in some special sections, one time only kinda stuff.

Vic, when I have a chance, I will help you lay this sucka out. I'm still pissed from missing last year's date (that I freaking picked drunk one night at Spec Pond)....LOL!

This will be the TT to remember folks with Teeshirts, hats, bumper stickers and BBQ!

We are a little premature for Trot Talk but it got started...

Sounds like there is interest from the die hard ride anything anywhere guys but what about some others who have never ridden Eglin. I will have some "alternate sections" for those who want "just a little more challange"

Several large options to start with
1) Big Loop like last year (maybe with gas/food truck)
2) Shorter loop in one area (Brox would be best - we could do three separate loops all starting and ending at Parking area (maybe at pond?) so we could all bring our own gas and food)

I'm easy bruddah Vic!

If you can make the shorter loops interesting, I'm good with it.

That big loop last year was neat also. Lots of beautiful scenery.

Even with option 2 we could still see downed Helo, old tank, downed navy plane, two lakes, four wet creek crossings, desert style power lines, AAgun, old trenches, new trenches, and a Mystery Crater!

East loop would go to lake, Helo Tank and 2 creek crossings
South loop would go to Crater, ATV loop, Snake Trail
West loop would go to AAguns, Buck Pond, trenches, river overlooks and deep sand

Just thinkin on line...

Did I hear someone say Turkey Trot? Woot Ill be back state side and will see if I can scrape up a bike to ride with. My 4fidy will still be some place in Morocco if all goes right.

Vic I think I have the gas truck support vehicle problem solved ;)

Im waiting on the petcocks to show up in the mail to do the full install. I was doing a mock up to make sure the HT oil cooler would fit...

the cooler just about doubles the oil capacity and brings the running temps down 30deg which should give me a 1000 miles between oil changes and a little extra HP due to the lower running temps.

All this so I don't have to pull a oil change in the middle of the Moroccan Desert. And when your being chased by desert bandits you dont have to be the fastest rider in the pack just the guy with more gas in the tank!

Rucked!! What up!! Looks like you are farkeling out the EXC very nicely and in the same fashion that I have been thinking about. Seems like everytime you buy something and put it on, it's been something that's been on my list of need-to-have's....lol. Let me know how that 5.3gal or is it the 6.6gal tank work for you (weight consideration and off-road handling) and of course the oil cooler on how easy that installation was and if you notice a difference with it running cooler. I am a man with limited mechanical experience and would consider putting that oil cooler on. Morocco.....sweet....new contract job? What happened to Austria?

Let's see some pics of it all buttoned back up together!!! If you ever want to part out some of the add-ons, put me first on the list for the tank and rear tool rack!

A new day and new ideas for the Trot

Wow... see ya gotta think outside the same old box.

Why not a two day Turkey Trot...

The idea of the Trot was always to get folks together for some FUN riding and meet and greet some of out out of town guys like Buzz and Dr Z and Rob Dirt Hooknup and others.

Either Indigo or even Spec would be great places for home base. I have been riding the Hat Tree area and its a real blast to ride (although that is truly Hunterland over there" and there will be activity over there the week before Opening day...

Hell that true anywhere on the range that time of year.

Not a lot to see over that way (like downed helos) but lots of good riding, and single track for those so inclined...

Good thoughts there folks..

Mug I have seen that orange area a thousand times on way to Mossy and never ridden it since I thought it was closed... I will revisit...

Keep those ideas coming...

The tank is the 6.3 gal. It may be more than I need for the tour in Morocco but I got great deal on it. I signed up for a week long tour with the KTM shop in Fürth Germany. They fully support the tour with a pimped out Unimog. They transport your bike down and haul all the bier and bratts you can handle. The one requirement was to have a extended range tank.

Rucked, WOW!!! That sounds unreal!!! The benefits of being abroad Please do elaborate on the costs for such an adventure in Morroco, if you wouldn't mind or just PM me to make things easier. Did you buy the tank from an outfitter here in the states and for how much? JustGasTanks has them on sale for $314, which I think is pretty good for that big of a tank....

Congrats on your adventures abroad, sounds like a blast! Oh and you better post up a ride report or at least some pics of this trip that you are doing!
