Sunday ride Blackwater or elsewhere

Couldn't find time to renew permit for the trot so thought I'd try to ride tomorrow if anyone is interested. Probably go to Hutton. Flexible on time. Length of ride not important but won't be real fast. F w/D

Obviously have my weekends mixed up. Maybe make it to the Trot after all. F w/D

No, its not good to share too much....

BTW I want to thank Mug again for the email of beemer service manual... wonderful and lots of help.
First time looking at a BMW and Imust say its a treat to see German Engineering at work...

Today we are gonna flip it on its side and see if we can get some help from gravity and if not the left head and possible the cylinder comes off, lift up guide and re-insert bolt.... we have already spend 4hrs trying to do it other ways.....

We will let you all know... I may open up a BMW/KTM specific repair shop.....

Now that we've got a few Beemers in the group, maybe it's time for a tech day for us BMW noobs.

I'll offer to host it and provide the grub if anybody's interested. Or maybe we can get the new dealership to offer some shop time and help us out........

On the contrary, actually. We had a great weekend and lots of fun. It was just that incident(or almost incident) where some unruly, would-be-trouble-making college kids almost got a cap busted in their asses. But i handled it...and slept outside under the stars in the cold with my gun by my side...in case they returned, lol.

The riding I enjoyed very much. In 2 days i rode about 110 miles in all. Also had a lot more sand practice and I am feeling better and better about it each time i ride in the stuff.

Great time. I will return...just will camp somewhere with less traffic unless I have all of you ADVers there to protect me. Hahaha.

Later,
Corey

Thanks for the help all...

Before removing the head and cylinder we tried one more thing as suggest by my WIFE! (Yes AST)... We gently laid it on its right side and titled unltil lelft side was straight up, wiggled the chain rail, and its stayed in position long enough to slip in the bolt. Back together in 15 minutes and took a great ride this afternoon....

As is well with the Dr's BMW...

Repair Fee = 0
Lession learned = priceless...

Yes we finally figured out what was happening, and yes eliminating gravity actually helped hold the thingymabopper long enough to slip the infamous bolt back in! Of course battery was dead from sitting three weeks so we also got to remove tank and 16ish something screws to reach the battery! Ouch! We ran a battery tender wire so we wont have to do all that again! Ran like a scolded dog that was mad at me. Thanks to The holigans, the new BMW shop, and big thanks and props to Vic for fixing it again!
Ok I took a bolt out of my KTM that I thought held Mirror in place on handlebars, but the rear swingarm fell off, and now it wont start! Anybody got any Idears!
