Durhamtown was a blast!

We started day one with some single track that lead to MX, ATV trails and freshly cut muddy trails. You could go fast or slow and still have fun. Traction was great, that hard packed stuff is completely different than sand. Biggest concern was the front end washing out in a fast turn. Ask Ian, the man just missed clipping a tree at speed that would have lead to more severe injury then the golf ball sized lump on his foot had he gone down.

Day two was more of the same with some new found elevation. Including a small hill climb section that someone got stuck on at the top and I had to run over his front tire to get up but Ian wasn't so lucky and we had to push him up the last 15'. That 15' kicked our arse. Got some nice rocky hill climbing in as well. We also got sucked into a fight for your life single track section that caused the both of us to hang it up for the day.

Day three was the Poker Run. We all tried to stay together but 10 bikes on the trails that were drying out was just no fun. Ian and I broke off and found all the cards at standard fast burn pace. By the way, a pair of nines don't beat shit.

We rode with a great bunch of guys and drank too much. As is par for the course with most riding weekends.

On departure day we found a broken leaf spring on the trailer and had to drive an hour the opposite direction to get a new one. Slight delay on an otherwise great trip

Thanks for the invite Ian, looking forward to next year.

Forgot to add that I laid my bike down in a huge rut within the first 10 minutes of riding and took the bars to the ribs. Nursed them for the rest of the weekend.

So it was fun and brutal.

Thats the reason I asked.... I always seem to overeat, overdrink and override at places like that. And there is always one trail we wished we had NOT tried....

Anyway been a long time since I was there.

We had rain last night! Maybe we will have a wet weekend (meaning no dust).

Good job on the narration for the weekend, Bruce! Pretty accurate and I still have a lump protruding from the top of my foot in the toe area that won't go down. Foot is still a little swollen...... but doesn't hurt as bad as it did. Definitely a great time with good people.

But I'm ready for a FASTBURN this weekend!!!!! Thinking maybe Brox if everyone is up or where evers if that doesn't work....Sunday?

I'm out for this weekend and maybe the next weekend as well. I'm going to Auburn on Friday to visit a long time friend and then I'm TDY to Jacksonville all of next week...

Got some good rain up there yesterday.

And a big ass tree fell on the power lines just south of Karrick Lake, didn't get power back until 10:40 last night, which reminds me, hurricane season is almost here.
