They are HH Collar Screws size: M8x35mm with a TX 40 config (Torx). So just get an M8x35mm with the head style of your choice and you are on your way.

Just measured mine and will confirm Daveberts most excellant response.

My trusty metric size gage deems it an 8mm with 30mm length of threads, 5mm shoulder and nut for 35mm total, scocket size is 10mm.

Nothing majical about these. ACE or Lowes should have them. I still dont understand how they got shipped but I cant wait to here this one!

Good luck.

Just a clarification...I thought these were for the 530 but for the 500 they are M8x30 and for the 530 they are M8x35. Should be easy enough to find at a good hardware store. Get stainless.

No, number 6 holds the bottom handlebar mounts to the top triple. The part I refer to is number 4 that tightens the lower triple to the fork tube. That is what you need correct? One on each side.

HH COLLAR SCREW M8X30 TX40

BUT I wont be riding anywhere If i dont figure out what size the lower clamp bolts are that go into my triple clamps. The two bolts I need hold the lower clamps to the triple clamps. I need to pick these up today locally and I dont know what size they are. If anyone knows or could measure for me that would be great.
Ok, I think you meant lower "handlebar" clamp bolts and if that is what you need, this is what they are:

AH-COLLAR SCREW M10X35 ISA45

They are an internal allen type screw or socket cap screw. Still should be easy to find.

Dave

I had back surgery about six years ago. It's truly amazing what a good surgeon can do.

I was back on the bike in about four weeks.

Good luck!

Yah I was able to finagle my connection to the PC w/o removing the tank, but on my 2006 version - it - was - tight.

I had cans on mine and it was lean mid range. The PC made a very noticible difference (at least to me anyway). After the two brothers cans and the PC, when you did a heavy roll on into 2nd gear, there was an inch or two of air under the front tire - easy. Very entertaining stuff. One of the security guards at the Hurlburt Main Gate told me to stop doing that crap during one of my ID checks in the AM. I said "Hey man - it's just a big dirt bike." And he said "Yeah, Suuuuure it is." He was nice about it though, and I never did it again. [ ]

I have a 2002 so of course it has some issues, mainly a clutch chatter which is my main gripe about this bike. about 3 bill to fix if I do labor...

But when the bike is ridden like its suppose to be, there is no problems, its only when I cursin at low rpm, or low speed around town that it lurches, and "hunts" for a smooth ride. Drive me crazy...I want it to ride like Phils BMW below 4k and itself above.... time will tell.

BTW - I have two sets of used tires 19"front and 17 rear that are still in very good condition. If anyone is interested PM me. Guy at shop wondered why I was changing since there was plenty of miles left... I just admitted I was a dumb ass.
