It does look like a goat path or animal trail.....but we rode that shit on dirtbikes and it was the best ST that I have ever ridden. What you see there was in the first 3 miles, and that specific trail (Calico) was 22 miles long, with 75% being above the treeline!!!! F-ing sweet!!!!

Hard to make out in the photo, are you going up or down the mountain in that one?

We are actually coming down in that picture, but what you see there is a picture from where my bike is parked lookinig up and two guys sitting on the ST waiting for the next person to come down and offer somewhat of a human wall from people going over the side...... I'll post more pics this week, when I get a chance to upload them.

Eglin Land Closure !!!

Got word from FBM yesterday that the East Side of 87 has been closed off with serious cable. We have lost the Snake Trail, the Mystery Crater, and even our beloved "Back Trail" or Ridge Trail (the one we ride first from Brox Landing). We dont know if you can still ride down 211 and get over to the Helo area?

West side appears to be open still but that is less than 1/2 the area...

Nothing we did, or could have done, to prevent this. Gov decided they needed this area and took it without even asking us!!!

I am planning on riding Spec this weekend, Saturday morning so we can eat BBQ during the ride!

All welcome

It was really great while we had it. Hopefully, it is the only such closing we will have there for years to come.... I won't be able to make it Saturday but am gearing up for the following weekend.

Here's a little teaser video that one of the riders put together from our recent CO trip. I'll be making a full length one over the next month for everyone to see. Enjoy!!

Awesome, I recognized 3 PAR's, think I saw a DR350 in there too. Thanks Ian, looking forward to more.

Question

With all the fantastic views - how do you get time to watch the trail...

I would just have to pull over a lot and go ...DAMN....look at that ...

What a country we live in...

GOOD NEWS:

This is a temporary closure. Just got off the phone with Jackson Guard, and SF is using that area for temporary training, and the only new permanent red zone is in the E16 (Mystery Crater) area, it's going to be a landing field, and is only a 20-acre square of land. I got this info from Justin Johnson, you can reach him at 883-1152 to verify, super nice guy.

I feel a lot better now. East of 87 would be a lot of land to lose!
