Good luck to all along othe Gulf Coast.

Too early to prep for hurricane! I have to wait until the outer rain bands are here with embedded thunderstorms and 45 knot gusts. That's the best time to bring in the lawn furniture, hanging plants, patio umbrellas, and put up 4x8 sheets of plywood.

Rode bicycles on Milton bike trail to Whiting Field with girlfriend this morning and then took these pix:

Started first kick when I picked it up from KTM World yesterday, and again when I got back home. Sweet. Running the NGK "IX" iridium plug...it's been a great bike--if it don't sell I will be cool with keeping it!

Bluhduh Ktm dudes--help!!

Hey Vico / KTM riders-- anybody know WTF this part is? I had the tank and seat off to route/secure wiring for headlight/light, and after tank and seat back on (but not plastics) I started bike to check lighting and this piece appeared to vibrate out of somewhere and bounce off garage floor.

Can't figure out where it came from??? Did not use/unfasten this part, nor remember ever seeing it... For you chuckleheads out there it is the part on the LEFT...
Thanks in advance...

It might be the spacer that your 8mm tank bolt goes through to hold your tank onto your frame. Sometimes they fit in there nice & snugg, sometimes they are loose and fall out easily if you lean your tank over while pulling it off the bike. Without it your tank will be loose when you put it back together.

I agree with Aaron, looks like the spacer that hold the rubber mount for the gas tank. Now they come welded to frame.

How does your tank mount? Fit into two rubber mounting on each side?

Aaron - how you healing brother... hope all is well up there!

Hey Vic, etc,
I'm coming along pretty well actually. Still bummed I missed our vacation down there back in July. I may be ready for an easy ride in another month or so. Hopefully I can make it down for the New year's festivities with a bike. Take care!

Thanks for the response guys. The frame had about a 2" 'bung' sticking up from the top of main down tube where tank fits over and mounts w/ a single bolt. This "unknown part" will not fit over that-I tried. The tank also mounts w/ two rubber "guides" on either side of the frame- I did not check those but this looks too big for either of those. It was almost like it is a part to another bike or something else and had at some point fallen down between front of tank and triple tree area, then when removing tank and starting it, this fell out. Even so, I am surprised I did not see it as I traced and checked all wiring from front to rear, also cleaning those areas as I went along. Very weird...

Really did not want to pull the stuff back off last night-was tired but maybe I will take a break today and check again...

Check the tank side mounts. That looks like the part...

What about where the seat hooks into the tank post you talk about. Could it be that piece. Sounds too small...

Just thinking out loud and getting my post count back up....
