I will NOT be out there in the mud.... cant afford to get hurt...

So we will see how the weekend turns out before pulling the triger.
Over a inch here in Nehhhh Varrrrr already. Blackwater mud and puddles would be challenging but the sand will be sticky and Epic!

Intellecast say rain will be over this afternoon and Friday and Sunday will be Sunny..... if that happens it will be great riding...

Last Saturday afternoon we stopped for break very near Hurricane Lake (and were we ride dirt all the time). We were on street bikes. A hunter pulled out of the dirt road and stopped to say "There's a hunt going on up there." Then he pulled out. Not friendly.

Afraid we can expect more of the same this weekend.

Perhaps we can rely on Barney for a "mud report".

Its not the rain, or even high water that I dont like its that grey and orange owl shit that is out there. Most of my injuries along the way have been from mud riding...sooo Im real careful about slip sliddin away....(nope I wont quote that one since I blew it on another thread).

You dont quit riding when you get old, you get old when you quit riding.
I don't always ride street bikes, but when I do I prefer VStroms

Was kicking around the idea of joining you on Saturday afternoon. (Sunday morning not good for me) But will be waiting to see what the conditions might be. I'm not wanting to slide around in the mud all day either!

Someone should check my math, but looks like general gun and general gun dog hunting expired yesterday. Small game hunting is still in play and archery/muzzleloader kicks in again February 14-24. Guess they could still chase hogs in the dog hunt area until March 3rd, should be fewer hunters in Blackwater this weekend anyway.

I have a slightly used front sprocket if anyone is in need. Should fit most KTM's.

I am only interested if you have the matching chain to go with it!

Newbie

Guys,
I am new to the forum and this thing you call dual sport riding.
I would like to join the ride this weekend.
When and where do you meet/start?
I'll be riding a '08 CRF230L Honda.
Tom

Welcome to the Madhouse!

Lots going on here. I would suggest - as we do to all n00bs - that you read post #2 (yep way back at the beginning) for info on the rides and where we start from.

We have various rides depending on skill level and bike. Last weekend we had a big street bike ride. This week looks like we have a Fastburn ride developing. Depending on your skill level in the dirt you may not be comfortable with this ride. Then again we have had many join the fastburns and be fine.

So far we are leaving from Karick Lake in Blackwater 8 miles north of Baker FL on 189 (NORTH Enterence). One easy ride Saturday afternoon and the real ride is Sunday morning leaving at 9AM

Glad you joined the forum and look forward to meeting and riding with you.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or concerns...

What only two out of 14 missing. KLR riders would stretch that out at least 5 more teeth.

If I remember you are running a Ironman rear.... you will go throught several of these before the Ironman shows wear. It make you tend to forget the front...

Laugh Zuki's concept DL1000

David L. shared this report from Motorcycle News:

They do this to the 650 and I'll be ready for a upgrade.
