Sorry to say I'm out.

Got my new sprocket on and all set up(Courtesy of rotorhead511) only to find my chain slider is 3/4th GONE, not eaten through, but gone! Chain has just started scraping up the swinger, so it's best to stop, regroup and spend the day in the garage tomorrow getting things all cleaned up.

Funny thing about that chain slider, it has about 7,500mi on it. My SMC slider is still looking good and has 76,000mi on it

Maybe I'll get out for a ride after Easter.

Just a friendly PSA (first glance/experience/kneejerk). I cruised to the new powersports place on the Mary Esther Cutoff this morning (right next to Barracuda Suzuki - used to be a furniture store). A few things about it if you haven't been there yet...

They stock Honda, Yamaha, and CanAm three wheelers along with a bunch of ATVs, jetskis and larger watercraft (I may have left a brand out there). The space is HUGE inside, and stuffed FULL of shiny, new, and various conveyances.

I pulled up on the TA and almost immediately there were 3 dudes from inside all OVER my TA. It was refreshing to visit a shop where the employees actually recognized an old bird like my TA. Compliment, compliment, compliment, ad-nauseum. Wierd being treated like a rock star, but it's pleasant nevertheless.

I went inside and whoa! It's big man. I told the pleasant young dude (who was a bit handicapped - had a very noticable limp drag shuffle) that was sticking near me that if he had one, I'd like anew visor for my street skid lid. After finding out he only had smoked-color ones, he took one off an existing helmet (after I was on my way out of the store). I didn't notice that that dude went into the back and found me a new visor - sort of hell or high waterishly. Now that's a good indication for me. I wasn't hell bent on a new flip up visor, and I thought "no big deal" - but that gimpy cool dude went above and beyond.

Anyway - I am initially impressed. Especially that 3 of the 6 of them (and prolly more) knew how unusual a Transalp appearance can be.

I'd like to learn of your experience (though, as all of you, I dislike stealerships, for the most part, also).

Thats good to hear Pete.
I get treated well at Kiley's with what few things I need for my bikes. They're fun to talk to about old times around these parts.

On another note, I was talking to a customer in Mobile yesterday about guns and the subject of blackpowder cap and ball revolvers came up. I told him I'd make a YouTube of me loading and firing my .44 caliber Model 1858 Remington replica. Only loaded it @ 1/2 charge being I was holding the IPhone and trying to hit a freon can. Requires a two hands when shooting @ max load.
Maybe some of yawwl would like a peek and it:

The young handicapped dude is Jonathan. He's a super nice guy too! He used to run the parts counter at Honda/Yamaha Fort Walton. He's the original owner's (Bill and Bud Chambliss') nephew.

I have taken the 530 to the track before I got the 250 and virtually blew out my tail light and blinkers from the suspension compressing...but I never did stiffen anything prior to going and of course there were the comments of, "Hey man you have a light and blinkers on there......". Yeah yeah I know, but actually enjoyed it. If you aren't a racer and are a beginner, you probably won't notice a difference until you land in the flat portion of the jump prior to transitioning on the downward backside of the jump and the bike fully compresses Rotorhead takes his 450 to the track and does well, which is basically the same as the 530.

++1 on John, super guy and will always go out of his way to get you what you need. He had a KTM Duke II up until a year or so ago. One of the best parts guys I've ever dealt with.
