250 miles today!

Tim and Wiley from the Oasis Breakfast group show up to see us off at the McDonalds.
If they wouldn't mind their bike getting a little dusty or muddy, they could have went with us.

Hog Wallow Road!

And we did a bit of Hog Wallowing as the day went on:

We made a lot of stops reading the stories on the granite monuments along the way following the Old Federal Road to Burnt Corn Alabama.
Yes, Nice pork!

I'm related to the Hollinger family of Monroe County:

Creek Indian War began here in Burnt Corn according to this monument:

What you want Homey????

Good news ferry riders (),,the rickety old ferry has been updated a bit:

John instantly recognized a serious safety issue in piping for the hydraulic gate lift cylinder,,,,,,,,,,,,,a water pipe union that is rated at less than 150 psi. Hydraulic pressure can exceed this by many times:

For hours,,,,,,

We ride,,,,,,

And make our way to visit the limestone cave near Perdue Hill.
I can get you to within 200' on the bikes:

First sight is the two natural bridges:

Slippery/steep decent and we're in the stream bed:

Right behind John is the entrance.
Its a LONG way through to where you can pop out again. Haven't done it since the early 70's and would like to think that someday I'd get the nerve up to do it again:

No lie,,,,,its a bit scary in there even for a fearless young fella that I once was.

Anybody game??

There are a couple more places in Monroe County that I know about that are now on hunting property. Thinking about researching and seeing if we could receive permission and make a visit to the Devils Soup Bowl where a reputed bottomless pond with frogs the size of a coffee cup live and is the beginning of Lovetts creek.
I've been there,,,,,,,,know where it is.

Another unusual place is the Indian Potato Hill that resembles a mini Devils Tower. Certainly doesn't look to belong in this area. I've been to this place also.
Another couple of interesting places in that area.

Here is a article written about that place:

This trip did look like a lot of fun. I've missed several rides lately due to my desire to put some of those Red Snappers in the freezer before "The Man" closes the season again! It is scheduled to close in State waters on July 15th. Hope to catch up with you guys soon...

Info needed on Ft.Walton fastburners

Good day riders,
I need to ask if anyone has a good contact/phone # for Steve Apperson or more importantly his fast & furious bud Jeff Provential.
A bud of mine is looking to buy a used pumpkin (KTM) that current pensacola owner/seller has bill of sale from Jeff P. We need a little background info on this scoot, appears to be a 2005 or 2006 450 e/xc or m/xc bike.
Please don't post info, just PM me w/any current or known good way to contact Jeff P or even Steve A so that I can contact Jeff & get low down on this scoot.
Thanks for any help,
JohnnyP
