Gimmee hooked me up with a Golan and I have to check a rocker arm pivot. Something about an upside down "dot". Maybe some Rekluse adjustment as well.

My big take a way so far is it's much more planted to the ground, very confidence inspiring. Very fast.

Cool -

The upside down rocker are was for the early model 500s. I checked mine and it was ok but its worth it to pull the valve cover and make sure. Hell slip a feeler gage under the valves while you have it down...

The hardest part (takes the most time) is getting the friggin right side bolts out the valve cover...rest is easy. Let me know if you need help or pointers.

Timberlake ride

Had a great time riding with you all today. 7 of us all on KTM's ventured out from Timberlake in near ideal conditions. Sand was perfect and no dust, even though everyone was struggling to keep the front end straight in the wet stuff. All in all it was super fun, hope we get another break in the heat this summer so we can do it again.

Had a good old fashion FASTBURN today with 7 skilled riders.

Dr Philgood played with his new camera and I did some quick editing. Gives you and idea of what at fastburn ride is all about.

Pensacola BMW/ Moto Guzzi this coming Saturday

I won't be able to make it but some out there may be interested in going.

From Todd:

Hey everyone, we are working hard here at BMW & Moto Guzzi of Pensacola to become not just another run of the mill motorcycle dealership. Our goal is to make our shop, your shop. A place to hang out and enjoy the company of other liked minded riders while at the same time being offered the best possible sales & service we can provide you. That said we are holding a "Moto Guzzi" Open House this Saturday July 13th from 0900-1500. We will have test rides on new California Custom 1400 and the V7 racer, in addition to all the other Guzzi models on the showroom floor. Patralla's famous Lasagna will be for lunch and we are giving away a Helmet and a few other things for door prizes.

Thanks r/Tod

Well Phil finally decided that perhaps the BMW tear down was a bit to much so he took the bike to BMW in Pcola. I don't know the particulars but overall Phil was pleased with the work and the people. They talked to him with respect and acted like they were glad to have his business. That goes a long long way.

Of course the price was outrageous but no more than anyone else - we checked around...

So we may ride over there Saturday and see what's up...

I'm glad to hear Phil was treated right. After viewing that YouTube video of replacing the clutch/hydraulic seal stuff, I don't blame him for not wanting to tackle it.
Hope to get a RT when I retire and have time to travel more. All the other Sport Touring bikes are just too dang heavy for me.

Pensacola BMW

I have visited the BMW shop in Pensacola a few times...never had any work done there or bought a bike from them but I have test driven several of their bikes and talked with them...they are always very friendly, helpful, and if I was looking for a BMW or a Guzzi, I wouldn't hesitate to make them my first stop when shopping.

I am still debating between a C5 Corvette and an older 67-72 C10 for a hot rod. Its just a matter of time..

I am having similar trouble...trying to decide between a 87-92 Camaro and a 95-96 Chevy/GMC truck for my next project. Biggest problem is finding anything that isn't rusted out, worn out, trashed, etc for what I would consider a reasonable price.
