LAL Ride

That stands for Land Above the Lake.

Really had a great weekend get away.

Left Thursday After and set up camp at North Karick Lake.
Little joy ride to the sunset. Got BBQ at Mickeys.

Rode next morning setting up camera for trick shots which you will not doubt see in the vids.

My lady joined me Friday afternoon. Great evening by the lake however damn lovebugs were everywhere.

Saturday morning was MotorMike and Orange Garret with later hook up with Navy Jake. Had a good 70 mile ride around the North Eastern area. Video to come at some point.

Visitor Saturday evening and then steaks and bake potatoes with a nice Malbec.

Sunday morning early ride with two outstand guys, Skid=Mark and Papa Wheelie. Boy did we explore. Way up north and found some awesome stuff.
More on that later. Another 65 miles but those are some ruff miles...

Home safe and sound.

Hope all the travelers coming back from LBL arrive safely as well.

It was an incredibly nice day to ride even tho we didn't get out until around 9, it was still nice and cool in the shade. Very good surprise to see Papa de Wheelie meister today. Always a thrill following you man!

And today I was able to pay it back with a full pike over the bars into a nice cool puddle of water. Muddy water. Cooled me RIGHT down. Nice. I was about 90% completely submerged on my back, but managed to keep the bike running. Got her up, drug it out of the 'hole that bit me' and rode on down to the Maestro, who missed it all. Wallet and cellphone survived the dunking. Very good day in the Karick neighborhood! Anytime gents!!

Nope. Vico was filming periodically (I think), and he got pretty far ahead on this one, because he ASSUMED I could make through the mudhole safely, since we had only been through like, 400 of them already today...
We will have to rely on PW to eloquently relate the details of the whole sordid mess. I had started to get my GoPro, but alas, it needed a charge.

The rest is hearsay.

Yes ! Very well marked. I hit it square - isn't that what you are suppose to do with orange cones? Must have knocked it off the trail so Skid didn't see it...

I tell you what - three days of riding wore me out. Damn I was tired. I wonder how I will feel when I get old...

Promised awesome vids are just that - promised...

No photos of Skid but there is a quick video of me being stupid.

Eased around a corner to see huge log... no problem - plenty to time to raise my hand for warning and hit breaks in the mud at the same time... results were not what I wanted...

Busted my hand with the bark busters...

Lucky I kept riding for the next two days so the swelling is not bad today...

Maybe 3rd time will be a charm. Look forward to seeing the video.

Hope your hand is still feeling better. I impaled a center drill into mine day before yesterday.... its like we're connected. Nothing a super-glue soaked piece of tissue couldn't patch up.
