I need to find a big tank for mine. Then a pumper carb

I'm thinking the same thing. Probably a Clarke tank and once I save a little more, the pumper kit from Keintech.

I'll probably dig into mine over the winter and make some small tweaks.

Intro Ride

Had a great ride today with AST - NakerBeachRider - Flirtin with Disaster.

Welcome to North East Blackwater. We just touched the surface.
Vid in the soup now an will post ASAP. A few shots of each of you and some water crossings. No face plants and only one quick shot of NBRs mud-camo helmet.

We also rode with Barney Papa and Jay for a while and they split and later we ran up on yet more renegade rage riders...AND lots of TRUCKS.

First real day of fall weather and it was perfect.

Hope all had fun.

It'll never be an RFS bike but I figure I'll DS the shit out of it once my schedule frees up some. I want more snap than it has I know, so it may get a 441, and headwork before it's said and done

I've had a DR w/ the pumper carb, and it does make a little difference in throttle response. Just not sure I want to put a new $400 carb on a $1500 bike. Same for the 441 kit.

When we rode today, I was held back much more by lack of skill and local knowledge than by my old bike. More power would have just meant a bigger crash.

Towards the end of the ride, I got behind Vic and tried to follow his lines and watch him. That was helpful.

That Dr 350 is a bulletproof badass....love the DR
All I'd ever do to that DR is to uncork and let it breath...headers would improve low end torque and thats always good
Of course I uncork my chainsaw and weedeater too.....I cant leave things alone.

Buy high, and sell low.... that's my motto, and the owners of my old bikes will attest to that

I know that all too well.

I think for this DR, I'll just do a Clarke tank, Keintech muffler mod, get the carb sorted.

After that, I"ll get Bob to go over the suspension (it has RaceTech stickers on the forks and shock, but I want Bob to take a look and make sure it's right) and buy an aftermarket handlebar. I did a lot of standing today and felt like the bar was too low and swept back too far. Probably go with a fatbar, CR High bend.

I've got an extra wheelset, some extra plastics, an extra CV carb, extra set of forks and a few other goodies. I'm planning to set the other wheelset up w/ sticky street tires so I can swap when I go to the mountains.

For the $1400 I have in it, I can't complain!!

not bad at all. few mudholes but they aren't "bottomless" like the soil we have around here. HLC is much less sandy.

unlike this fellow, apparently he doesn't mind a bit of water...
