I didn't see the built in sun screen in the LS2, or did I miss something? I use my ds helmet for commuting and the sunscreen would be great. I use my mx lid for off road(like I ever get a chance to do that)

JVB maintenance DVD for R1100/1150

While hunting a blues CD, I ran across a Jim Von Baden maintenance DVD for the the R1100/1150 series.

Topics covered include:
Removing the gas tank
Changing the fuel filter
Air filter change
Gas tank install
Valve adjustment
Throttle body synch
Brake bleeding
Replace alternator belt
Changing final drive
Spoke check

As I no longer own a BMW and have no plans to purchase one any time soon, I'll mail this to anybody on the PAR thread (or if you know somebody that can use it) that needs it. This is a pretty good, hands on tutorial for many of the basic items we can do at home. JVB is an active ADV member and provides a good bit of help on the boards.

Shoot me a dibs and a PM with a mailing address and and I'll have it on the way USPS, probably by Monday.

Ride safe,

Frank

Bring More Wallet

I love my old BMW. And I haven't even got it running yet.

Madhouse - GFY.

This baby is gonna be nice, and I can't wait. Smooth, and easy. No worries, no problems. Sorry you've not had a BMW Tony. I guess. The thing about BMWs (bring more walletoes) is that once you spend the bucks to get them right, they pretty much stay right. I have my completely new tank waiting in the wings, and the carb parts on order. I just stuck the new sealed odyssey battery in it and all electrical systems work perfect and are good to go. I am not in a rush. I have no worries about fiscal issues. The paint is a mirror image, and the side bags work great. I am anxious to ride a smooth airhead down the road.

Glad I have had the chance to have the hardware I always wanted. When it comes to off road - I will caution myself till the right two smoke bubbles to the surface.

Merry Christmas you crazy fucks.

For anyone curious, Beach Boulevard Motorsports in Atlantic Beach (Jax) has a left over 2013 EXC 500, with 2 miles on it. They have it listed now at $8900, but seemed motivated today to move it (not that I was looking or anything ) A dealer in Titusville also has a 2013 EXC 350 with 250 miles on it listed for $7500, and seriously motivated to sell (they were ready to meet me tonight with it for less than that). Just a friendly tip...

Saturday at Karick.

Cloudy now but who knows. We are here anyway. We will wait for clear weather before we ride. We will be here all day.

Warm out there today. Gonna SS&S and then take the old Transalp out for a spin around FWB. Haven't rode it in a while. What a nice old bike.
