I grew up riding dirt bikes around here but haven't been riding much for a while until a friend of mine found this thread last October. I didn't realize that we could ride great places like Eglin and Black Water State Forrest. Your bike must be street legal but both of these sites are great..

Where do you live now? Please share you riding experiences with us. We love to hear about how shitty everywhere else is cause it makes our area sound better. Like Crushed said, we have some great places to ride. No rocks, no hills, no overlooks, but lots of woods to plan in and the sand doesnt hurt when you fall (at least not bad).

Come back and join us sometime.

BTW we are heading to the Smokys. Yall have fun now ya hear!

You dont quit riding when you get old, you get old when you quit riding.
I don't always ride street bikes, but when I do I prefer VStroms

Just a heads up, the last space shuttle launch is this Friday. Certainly amazing to see especially considering its 30 year old technology... (with no replacement).

Little streak is the shuttle halfway to space (STS-131, last night launch)

STS-125

Dallas - these things mean a lot to me. Pop trained the STS-7 Shuttle pilot how to fly when they were in VT1. That dude was a Navy Captain (at the time of launch) -- Rick Hauck. btw - my step mom was friend with S. Ride.

Was wondering if my computer was acting up. Way too quiet around here.

Came into work early so will leave early. Got something called Tobinators for my GS windscreen. Will toy w/ them again this afternoon in an effort to tame the buffeting.

Boring, I know, but it's something.

Alabama Dragon Beast Ride Sunday

Posted this over in the POG thread: All Beast riders are welcome.

Sunday we are going to meet Madhouse and the P'cola/Mobile contingent in Brewton at the Wow Wingery at 7am. From there we will continue up 41 to the South 40 Restaurant in Repton for a quick breakfast at 7:30. This will be a good place to meet Frank and anyone else from up that way.

After breakfast we will head up to Burnt Corn for a quick stop and then continue over to 21 north. We will follow 21 up to Beatrice where we will pick up 265 north to Camden. If we have time we can stop at the grist mill (if it's open that is...).

Once in Camden we will have two options:
1) Ride 41 south to Monroeville thereby completing the Alabama Dragon route.

2) Catch the 11:15 ferry and continue 20 miles north to CR 4 which is a groomed dirt road of about 4 miles. From there we would turn south and head down to Pine Hill for lunch before continuing to Lower Peachtree to CR 35 to SR 84 then over to Perdue Hill for some historic sights. CR 35 is a hoot!

Option 1 is a lot shorter than option 2 which is about 396 miles for me.

Roll call time fellers!
Rick

Phil, if our dad isn't back and you want to join us come on.
Randog, I know you've been stromming around....come on and join us.
DFR, bring your Tiger...

Sorry Mark, like Ian I will be on the water Saturday watching the Blues!
