Out is good!

Picture this....
you are riding and just where Dallas' jeep is you stop and that litte hole is nice and full and from the ground around it it looks like a few inches deep. Just plow through the middle right.

why puddles scare me... give me a creek or a river anyday...

I ran into Courtney and Melvin at West Marine yesterday and invited them to come too.

Right now the forecast is for scattered showers 30%. If the chance of rain increases to 60% or above, we may reschedule. I will post Satuday night by 10 pm if this happens.
Rick

It's on fellers!

Weather looks good.

I am leaving my house around 5:30 and will head up to Brewton to meet Madhouse , Rob, Dandy Dan and whoever else is coming along at the Wow Wingery at 7 am. From there we will head to Reton for breakfast and meet Frank.

Who's in?

It was great having Phil along today. He rode like a vet for sure. After Phil split off in Burnt Corn, the rest of us headed north to Beatrice to pick up 265 north to Camden.

I waived Steve around and Madhouse followed with Dan and Cathy hauling ass 80 mph up and down, through turns. Rob, Frank and I were coming over a rise when a deputy sherriff pulled out in front of me....talk about decelleration!!!!

At Camden Steve, Dan and Cathy decided to ride 41 and head home as they all had to be home early. Frank left for home after we stopped for a drink at Hardees. After that Madhouse, DFR and I made a dash for the ferry (making it just in time).

After the ferry we rode 29 north to cr4 which is a dirt road. Madhouse took off while Rob and I weren't far behind. I'm really starting to appreciate the dual-sport bloodline of the Vee.

When we got to Pine Hill, we were all still full from breakfast and decided to keep on truckin. Once we made Lower Peachtree, we picked up CR35 which is one of my faves and boogied south. Tony wanted to show me the west side of Clairborne Dam so he took the lead and quickly steered us onto a nice dirt road that was probably seven miles long. We hauled ass down that road on our Vee, Wee and Tiger-eee. All three bikes love the dirt roads.

After a quick stop at the dam we rode to Perdue Hill where we split up and headed for home. By the time I hit Repton, I could see a huge rainstorm ahead so I stopped and donned my rainsuit.

It was quite nice riding through the hard rain to Brewton. Once in Florida, it became the sunshine state so I removed my rainsuit and rode home.

410 miles in 10 hours. Hung out with some of my favorite people and made it home safely.

A good day!

Dang WR, I only rode 356 miles. The only rain I got was 5 min. after we split up. It was just enough to make the road steamy. Thanks for the great ride guys. Here's some pics.

Beasty Ride Success

Looks like a fun day on the roads.

Glad you all had a good time and everyone is back SAFE!

We had a hot fastburn today at Timberlake. As normal no pics!

Sounds like everyone has a Safe Ridin Weekend

Just want to say a quick thanks to those that could make it out to ride with me today. I had hoped to see the Blues fly while I was here but couldn't work out the details. Today made up for it even tho it was pretty dusty and hot. Honored to ride with some of the best of the "Flatistan Fastburners"!
Even got to prove/re-verify my "skid-master" designation! Yeeoowwzuh!

Best of luck to you Riggy on your new adventure!
See you all next trip!

Today's ride pictures

Well fellers, I was gonna post in the Panhandle Old Riders thread bein I'm a old fella, but its been hijacked by the chuckleheads.
No thread is safe from their antics.

On to the pictures

Waitin on Rob to gas-up:

Burnt Corn stop:

Then its north thru some twisties to Camden. We're a bit early, so we cool-off at the local Hardees and grab a cold drink. We used this time for a bit of BS. It was good to get to know Frank (our latest Inmate) a bit better.

Gees Bend Ferry is located north of Camden.

The Captain climbs out of his pilot house and meets his new passengers.

Here's a little movie I made. My favorite part is catching Rob admiring his new Tiger. Too bad nobody got a shot of me admiring it too. That's one sharp machine!
Double-click on the following picture to see the little movie:

Climbed the ladder to visit the Ferry Captain. A few shots:

The Captain pointed out his home on the bank as we went past. Nice place.

These two are the west bank of the Clairborne Lock and Dam facility.

Not far away from here is Goat City. Was hoping the goats would be in their home so Rick and Rob could see the funny site.
No such luck.
Guess their lack of A/C forced them under the shade of the trees.

Rick!
Thanks for organizing this ride.
You are a good leader!
