Mostly dirt

Only pavement is to and from the forest Hwy 29. Mostly fire roads with some double track. I would call it challenging to a new dirt rider and fun for an intermediate rider. An advanced dual sporter can have fun too. We will be crossing some of the creeks you see in the thread just to give you an idea.

Bad news. I've gotta bail.

I'd never make the 9am start anyway.

I dont know if a half hour will help but we can do a 930 start. If we leave too late it gets hotter faster and all that time to get home stuff happens sooner.

It's not really the time- I'm just using it as a convenient excuse. Thanks anyway.

I've got other commitments to handle.

Good thing Gilla and Peaches didnt come.

Well we made it, Sandplow, Brant and I. N1702 off of Twin valley road. Lets call it a "Challenging" trail. We rode some of the roughest toughest trails yesterday for big dual sport bikes.

Peach its was a good judgment call not to come along. Gilla Funk we all think you just dont ride the GS in the dirt, you know it is called DUAL sport street & DIRT. (thats a dig at you to get you to say FINE! Ill ride with you guys and youll see I can ride the wheels off that GS in the dirt!) Thats just a joke dont take it personal.

Really guys we got turned aroung not lost mind you just the GPS and the maps didnt match. It was rough hot riding and we didnt stop to eat until 3PM because we kept saying lets just get off this trail and find a shaddy spot that is flat.

I lost a CyclePump out on the trail (it flew off on one of the many bumps, rocks, or whoops). So if any one takes Bartlett springs to twin valley to N1702 look for the RED Cycle pump bag the pumps only been used a few times! I actually rode back down the trail for a few miles looking for it but the trail was just rough going. I couldnt look for the pump and ride over and through the rocks and ruts at the same time. I finally found a spot that I could turn around and headed back to the others one Cycle pump lost to the wilds of Mendo National.

We all got stung by yellow jackets oouch! That was just the frosting on the cake!

Sandplow on the Tenere!

You had to wheelie across the rut and cross back and forth to get up this part. It was narrow with bushes pushing against the bike. Sandplow got hung up in the bushes and had to restart. It was a tough section.
