Mendo has been really nice lately, still a little nippy in the higher elevation but a very pleasent spring nonetheless.

Ran into Vrago and Sandplow on Sunday, 3-650's and 1-450 had a blast riding with these guys at Cow mountain !!

Pretty much on the move from the gate and this was the only place Vrago gave me a moment to take a picture.
Ibuprofin, 3 sidecars, dinner and life was good again

Mendocino next Sunday..

ruts

I thinks that was trail 6. I was not sure what riding style to adopt. Ended up with my knees up by my ears and holding on for dear life. Not pretty but effective!!!

The wife & I spent last weekend riding Foresthill, absolutley Primo! Mud, little snow, high water in the creeks, velcro traction..ahhh

Thinkin' about a Cow dust ride this coming Sat, you game?
Hey Tirebiter, how's things... That was trail 6 heading towards the creek.
17 to 24 and dumped us on 6.
Sunday is my only day to escape at the moment and we're taking refuge from the trees in Mendocino, Cow got a little warm and we almost had another head on. For some strange reason people like to ride on the wrong side of the road, maybe the meth huh

Come join us in Mendo and we'll show you some trails, it's only another 30 minutes.... or so.

The wife and I hit middle creek for the first time 2 weeks ago, loooong drive. Place reminded me of riding the Sierras, with greazier dirt & rutted, wooped out trails.
Does anyone maintain the trail system up there?? Any local groups helping out?? Kinda sorry trail conditions for such a beautiful spot..

I don't know where you rode but it sounds like you found some bad stuff, nice
I was up ther two weeks ago, sorry we missed each other.

Most of the trails are in pretty good shape and I generally see trail workers doing some upkeep. The trails up in Penny Pines are in good shape.
We'll hook up and I'll show you around next time.

Did you do 38? If you did then I think I know what your talking about.
Just after you go down the long downhill section you pass the creek and it's a battle to keep your helmet from getting whacked.
That trail needs help no doubt.. I see most riders are playing around most of the blue trails. I like getting farther away from people so I tend to explore further north.

N1702 over to Letts lake

Took my "Wifes" new toy out for a spin yesterday. It does a good job with two wheel drive. I actually rode by myself again (no one loves me). I ran into this snow bank on N1702 off M5 that heads to Letts lake and then to Bear Creek. I got stuck then put in reverse and tried again and got through. Then 10 yards latter more snow. Then a group of Jeeps came up behind me and plowed the way for me.

Hit me up for the Mon-Wed rides. I might have a ride brewing on May 6th if anyone is up for riding. I will take my GS on a group ride not the slow moving tank.

It has been more fun than we thought. We bought it for my wife. She has been riding for five years. She has never had "Fun" when riding off road. She cant relax and is white knucle the whole time. So we are giving the sidecar a shot. So far she loves it. She has been riding it to work to get used to driving it. She hasnt had it off road and i just did yester day. Its more stable in some ways and not so stable compared to a two wheeler. Over all more stable than two wheels.

We have been taking it to dinner and any place we can think of together. The whole time we cant stop the smiles. We are very happy with it. I have posted some thoughts on the rig over in the Hack section.
